Reliable Valve Source Claims Two Half-Life Games Are In Development
A trusted source from Valve with a proven track record, Tyler McVicker, claims that Valve is working on two Half-Life games currently in development at Valve's studio.
One of the games is a sequel to the wildly popular Half-Life Alyx VR game, and another is codenamed Citadel.
Oh God, Valve is working on 2 Half-Life games following up on Half-Life: Alyx..... I AM EXCITED! https://t.co/JPSlQcTxPJ

History shows that Valve always releases at least one sequel, the problem occurs in the next, AKA, third game. Therefore, a sequel to Half-Life Alyx had to happen. Memes and jokes aside, Half-Life Alyx has been hailed as the best VR shooter, so obviously Valve would like to cash in on the hype.
Another game codenamed Citadel is a cryptic title. The Citadel was previously leaked as a multiplayer, "asymmetrical game where one side has a top-down view and can spawn enemies, while the other team fights them on the battlefield." The game is rumored to support both VR and non-VR modes, perhaps VR could be tied to either a hero or villain faction at the time of release.
So far, McVicker has said that Valve isn't sure if Citadel will be included in the Half-Life IP or if it will have its own IP. However, recent developments may hint that the Citadel is also set in the Half-Life universe.
Of course, we still ask that you treat all rumors with a grain of salt. It's not that McVicker's sources are unreliable, it's just that it can take a long time for Valve to release a game, and sometimes the project doesn't even get published. Valve studios hire developers regularly, but they don't release games every year like other developers on the market. Their development standards are insanely high, and they have the budget to back that up thanks to Steam.
