Reliable Informant Announces New Marvel Character In Fortnite
A verified Fortnite insider revealed that the next Marvel crossover will be with Shang-Chi!
A new Fortnite leak claims that Shang-Chi will be the next Marvel hero to get his own skin.
Epic Games continues to partner with all the major franchises looking to be part of Fortnite. Well, except for the studio behind Among Us, which was ready to work with Epic but wasn't contacted about Fortnite's new mode, Impostors. Even though Fortnite has enjoyed a lot of crossovers, Marvel is still its biggest partner.
At the moment, the Marvel and Fortnite collaboration has been going on for many years, and next week the company may very well be adding another hero to its roster. Hypex, a Twitter account with an excellent track record for accurate leaks, has unearthed hidden in-game keys that appear to indicate that the Shang-Chi skin will be added to the game on September 2nd.
If this is true, time is definitely adding up. Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings will hit theaters and Disney Plus the following day, September 3rd. This will give millions of Fortnite players the chance to take on the identity of Shang-Chi and go about their business in a battle royale. It's also possible that Shang-Chi will get his own tournament, allowing the chosen few to win the skin for free before anyone else.
Several Marvel heroes have already received tournament treatment. Venom, Black Widow, and Gamora all had cups to win before they were added to the in-game store. They can be found in the game along with other Marvel heroes such as Thor, She-Hulk and Doctor Doom. Not to mention DC characters like Superman and Wonder Woman who also got their own chalice.
Marvel crossovers from Fortnite are likely to start growing again in the coming months. First, Shang-Chi will enter the game, and the heroes from "Eternal"and Spiderman "No Way Home" not to mention Hawkeye from Disney Plus. Sony is also planning to release Venom 2, although a new report claims that the sequel will be pushed back to January 2022.
