Today during the Monster Hunter Digital Event, Capcom shared new details about Monster hunter rise , an upcoming entry in the award-winning and best-selling RPG series Monster Hunter
Starting today, 8 January CET, throughout January, Monster Hunter Rise. The demo will be available as a free download from Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch™, offering hungry hunters around the world the chance to experience the long-awaited new game in the legendary franchise for the first time. A new trailer was also shown live, showing the Wyvern game mechanic, a new monster, a collection of returning monsters, and new icy hunting grounds for players to explore once the full game is released on the Nintendo Switch system. The demo provides players with a variety of hunting options, including offline single and (up to 4 players) offline *local and online** multiplayer gameplay using all 14 weapon types. The following modes and quests are available in the free demo:
- ⋅ Training - Learn the basics of monster hunting, including an introduction to the new Wirebug mechanic and Palamute riding. Solo game only.
- ⋅ Wyvern riding - Enter the arena to experience wyvern riding, a new feature that allows hunters to ride and control monsters for a period of time. Solo game only.
- ⋅ Quest for beginners: Great Izuchi - ideal for Beginners players or hunters who need a refresher course. Single player, local multiplayer and online multiplayer.
- ⋅ Mid-quest: Mizutsune - a brutal test for experienced players only. Single player, local multiplayer and online multiplayer.
*Nintendo Switch Online (NSO) membership is not required for local offline play.
**Nintendo Switch Online membership (sold separately) and Nintendo Account required to play online. From today until January 13th, Nintendo is offering its NSO service as a free trial to all players on the Nintendo Switch.
NOTEA: The demo grants hunters a total of 30 quest attempts, which are split between both (starter and intermediate) quests. The Tutorial and Wyvern Riding Training do not count towards the 30 quest limit, but these modes cannot be accessed after the limit is reached.
Also announced today is Ice Goss Kharag, a brand new monster that will debut in Monster Hunter Rise.. This fanged beast will chill hunters as it roams the snowy fields in search of new prey and attacks with icy blades. Goss Kharag is at home in the Frost Isles, a new snow-covered and windswept place that was once the nesting ground for great dragons that only the bravest hunters would try to slay.
Many other classic and fan-favorite monsters will return to join the ever-growing roster of enemies in Monster hunter rise . In addition to the previously announced monsters, these seasoned threats will also make their presence known: Lagombi, Hezu, Great Buggy, Barioth, Mizutsune, and Tigrex. New and returning monsters will be revealed in the coming months.
