Microsoft Flight Simulator - Live Update V with Big Performance Improvements

After weeks of hype, the new Sim Update V for  Microsoft Flight Simulator finally entered the PC market, coinciding with the release of the Xbox Series version of the simulator. This new update includes a Boeing 747-sized changelog filled to the brim with details. Without a doubt, the most important thing for most is the promise of improved performance.

Some time ago showed this growth performance and attributed improvements in memory management, optimized support for multi-core processors, and more efficient use of the GPU. The end result is not only an increase in frame rates, but also a "significant reduction" in latency and faster load times. Performance Microsoft Flight Simulator constantly annoyed many players this year when the game came out on PC. We hope to finally address these issues with this update, but the real test will come when enough people download it and try it out for themselves.

big and responsible

By the way, the download size package Sim Update V for  Microsoft Flight Simulator is as much as 40,29 GB. This is not counting a small update for the client. Microsoft Flight Simulator, which must be downloaded in advance. But as mentioned earlier, Sim Update V offers a lot more than just a performance boost. Players can also now enjoy minor graphical improvements, new aircraft parts, a new AI control system, new actions, and an improved world map.

New visual effects are present when landing on different surfaces. Particles will rise up depending on weather conditions. This includes sea spray in the ocean, water splash on a wet asphalt/concrete runway, runway dirt or grass, and snow from a snowy runway. Some aircraft, such as the Piper X Cub and Cessna 152, can now also be equipped with water and snow landing skis. Part of the new AI control system is the "land anywhere" feature, which will allow the AI to take full control of the aircraft. This extends to directing the aircraft to fly automatically to any major points of interest. This feature is completely separate from the autopilot features found on some aircraft and can therefore be used with any aircraft in the simulator.

transcontinental content

To make it easier to find the right place to fly, the world map now has full satellite imagery from Bing Maps. In addition, the map now displays the names of countries, states/provinces, cities, and major points of interest.

New actions in Sim Update V for Microsoft Flight Simulator include brand new exploratory flights that will take players through different parts of the planet, especially through areas that have already received world updates. These include the US, the UK and Ireland, the Nordic region and Japan. In addition, training flights were repaired. They not only became more (22 in total), but also simplified the work, making them simpler and more understandable. Training flights cover practically all aspects of flight , including the basics as well as more advanced operations such as training on an airliner.

We will look at all the smallest details and share our thoughts on improvements after the relevant flight tests have been carried out.
