Lifeweaver in Overwatch 2 controls the tree of life
Since the 4th season Overwatch 2 just around the corner, a new hero joining the game's roster has been announced Blizzard Entertainment. Niran Pruksa Manee, also known as Lifeweaver, is the latest support hero revealed to the world.
Nicknamed Bua (บัว), meaning lotus flowers in Thai, the Lifeweaver hails from the southeast Asian country of Thailand. Being the first openly pansexual character among heroes Overwatch 2, this fresh new character brings a whole new level of performance.
With abilities like life grip, which can bring allies back to safety, and bursts of charged energy that can heal allies through his primary fire, the Lifeweaver kit reflects his personality - witty, kind, and always eager to uplift anyone in need.
The origins of Bua, weaving life and tranquility into the electric battlefield of Overwatch 2
While researching his cutting-edge Biolight technology, this Thai hero realized that perfection and uniformity, as he had been taught earlier, were not the solution to the world's problems. So Lifeweaver set out on a journey to find answers he wouldn't normally do in the mundane environment of his hometown's perfect little bubble.
During his travels, Lifeweaver realized that the world needed help and salvation. Gained inspiration and the will to help those in need, our hero decided to unite the higher forces of the universe - Life and Science.
Recognizing that perfection is indeed overrated, Niran PruxaMani becomes who he was always destined to be - Lifeweaver. He fuses his technology and nature, providing the ultimate cover for his allies and weaving life into any team he is on. With its power and knowledge, Lotus promises to heal the world.
Using the forces of life and science
This new Overwatch 2 hero harmonizes these elements of nature to create something honest, vital, and authentic. Using its Biolight technology and knowledge of its travels, Lifeweaver uses a serene and composed kit.
Thai support abilities include charged bursts of healing on allies, aptly called Healing Flower. His Petal Platform ability literally lifts allies and himself. With higher ground, movement based characters such as Junkrat, can take advantage of being above the battlefield to spearhead their enemies. The platform can and will also be used for a variety of other technologies that players will slowly discover and develop.
Life Grip and Healing Dash lean towards more traditional Overwatch 2 abilities, while Life Grip friendly mimics a grappling hook Roadhog. Healing Dash acts like Hanzo's movement ability, with the added benefit of healing this last hero easily when using it.
Tree of Life, his final version, was described by the Overwatch 2 developer responsible for the concept as "Bob's healing meets Mei's ice wall". It provides cover for teammates, which means players cannot shoot, shoot, or even walk through this tree. This large Biolight tree also periodically heals allies with pulses of healing energy.
