Life is Strange: True Colors Is A New Chapter That Rejects The Series' Episodic Model

Square Enix has announced Life is Strange: True Colors, the new chapter in its series of narrative adventure anthologies. If the series' previous episodic model is abandoned, the entire story will release immediately on PC, PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Stadia on September 10th.
The game takes place in the city of Haven Springs. In "True Colors", the main character was introduced as Alex Chen, a new Asian-American character.
true colors, as expected , was developed by Before the Storm Deck Nine, with prequel series lead writer and game designer Zack Garris serving as game director. During yesterday's Square Enix Presents livestream, Garris said that Deck Nine has been working on the game since 2017.
The story begins when Alex comes to town to reunite with his brother after eight years of separation. But after the tragedy, Alex will discover that she - like the other protagonists of Life is Strange before her - has a special power.
This time, Alex is able to "experience, absorb and manage" the intense emotions that people close to her experience and determine why they feel certain feelings. True Colors' story focuses on how she uses this power to uncover the truth about what happened to her brother and the hidden histories of the other residents of Haven Springs.
Storm fans will also recognize Stefa, the popular character you play board games with in the first episode of this series. Here, she becomes one of Alex's closest friends, as well as one of two possible love interests.
In addition, Square Enix, the publisher of Life is Strange, also announced today that remasters of the original Life is Strange and Before the Storm games are in the pipeline.
