Cryo Hypostasis is a world boss in Genshin impact. The guide includes location, ways to win and weaknesses, elements, materials, artifacts, and recommended characters to deal with it.
Cryo Hypostasis is an elite boss in the Mondstadt region, located in the western part of the Dragon Ridge. It looks like a large cube with a luminous core in the center. If you strike at the moment when the boss is covered by four cubes, no damage will pass through him, you need to wait for the right moment when his core is not protected and then strike
Research has shown that there is little difference between Elemental hypostases and normal elemental creations. It can be the reason for the high stability of their forms and the mechanical nature of the actions performed.
If the player defeats this boss, they are required to pay 40 units of primordial resin before claiming the reward.

Abilities and Attacks
For most of the attacks below, the core will open within a few seconds after the boss uses the attack. Use this opportunity to deal damage to the boss.
Ice Blast: creates a barrier of exploding icicles around itself, spawning icicles where the player is standing with a short delay. Dodge the aether by periodically dashing along the edge of the arena or running towards the exposed core.
Cotton: flies quickly near the player and forms a large wall that collapses very quickly with a "slamming" motion, dealing damage in an area in front of the wall. Dash to the side to dodge.
ice wheel : Transforms into a wheel that travels in a straight line towards the player, leaving a devastating cryo trail in its wake. This attack can be repeated up to three times. Dash to the side to dodge. You can also try to parry this attack with Beido's Tidecaller.
Self-guided icicles: flies into the air and forms a diamond shape with the pieces of its projectile before firing each of them at the player. The trajectory of these projectiles is curved, but they can be dodged by throwing yourself under the hypostasis during the attack. The core is exposed during this attack.
Crystal skirt: forms a "skirt" of icicles that shoot out in three rings of increasing diameter. The final ring creates a cryo area that damages the player when standing or jumping over. You can avoid it by going to the far side of the arena.
Ice Shield: at low health (approximately 5%) teleports to the center of the arena and forms a thick ice sheet around the core. While maintaining this state, summons several ice fruits around him, restoring a percentage of HP every second. At this stage, homing icicles will be launched periodically. Players can use charged attacks against fallen ice fruits to destroy the shield and expose the core.
How to defeat cryo hypostasis?
In its structure and behavior, the new adversary is similar to its brothers (to other hypostases). Many actions are repeated. But there are also significant differences.
Before starting the fight, activate the local heaters (there are three of them), you can use the food "Delicious Tomato Stew", it will reduce the rate of accumulation of cold.
The element of hypostasis, as you might guess, is cryo. Keep this in mind when using elements and reactions. For example, Razor feels great in a fight with a cube, as it reduces protection against physical. damage.
Boss attacks
When the boss opens like a flower above the battlefield, it is advisable to move away. It fires ice spikes that deal quite a lot of damage.
At the moment when hypostasis exposes the core and sticks spikes into the ground, they begin to crawl out right in the way of your character, the damage is not high, but in such a large number they can be quite shabby. If you are far from the core, try to zigzag just to avoid damage. If you are nearby, come close and keep hitting, the spikes come out of the ground only far from the core, next to it is a safe zone.Next to the core is a safe zone
When the cryo hypostasis takes the form of a wheel, try to get him closer and use a dash at the last moment, this way you will avoid damage. If you jump early, the hypostasis will change direction and still hit the character. Usually the boss repeat this procedure 2-3 times in a row.
Assuming the shape of a diamond, the boss begins to bombard the character with icicles, this attack deals huge damage, but it can be avoided using a dash. The farther you are from the boss, the easier it is to avoid getting hit.
When hypostasis is near death, he will hide in a strong frame and will throw out ice bombs. When you try to approach him, you will receive huge damage from an ice explosion. It is better not to approach him, he will fly in such a way that he will not seem small
To break through the shield, use the same bombs that it throws out. They just need to be launched into the boss. To do this, stand so that there is hypostasis in the way of the bomb and use a charged attack (long press LMB).
Three hits with a bomb are enough to remove the shield, after which the boss will not be able to fight for some time, and his the core will not be protected (it's time to finish it off!).
Recommended command
The best option
- Primary DPS: Klee
- Secondary DPS: Fischl
- Support: Zhong Li
- Support (Healer): Bennet
Thanks to the Pyro Resonance, which increases attack power by 25%, Klee can easily create the elemental Melt reaction when fighting Cryo Hypostasis. Raise this stat even further by activating Bennet's Elemental Burst. At the end of the combo, use the "ult" of the fiery shorty.
Zhong Li, on the other hand, will help you protect the squad from powerful enemy attacks, especially at the last stage, when you need to destroy his barrier. If your life bar goes down a lot, then use Bennet's skills to heal the group.
The image above shows the characters from which you can also assemble a good team to destroy this Cryo boss. The squad should consist of 1 primary DPS, 2 secondary DPS and 1 support (or 2 supports and XNUMX secondary DPS).
Free option
- Main DPS: Xiang Ling
- Secondary DPS: Lisa
- Secondary DPS: Ember
- Support (healer): Barbara, Noelle or Traveler (Geo)
Two Pyro heroes in a team will give a bonus to attack power. Xiang Ling will also be able to deal additional damage with the Melt reaction. If Barbara's healing doesn't help much or you get frozen a lot because of her, then you can take Noelle to put shields on your characters.
Victory rewards
After defeating the boss, as usual, a "bush" will appear, from which we collect a reward (40 primordial resin is needed).
Among the rewards are the usual items from the field bosses: sets of artifacts "Gladiator's End" and "Wandering Ensemble", pestilence and 200 adventure experience. Since the boss is cryo, Jades of Shivad also fall from him to exalt the characters.
You will always get 200 Adventure XP regardless of your world level.
Well, a special item that can only be obtained from cryo hypostasis - "Crystal Blossom", you will also need it to exalt characters. With a high degree of probability, these items will be required for the rise of Eola, a new 5* character, a banner with which will appear in the second half of May.
Achievements
Destroying the shield from the Hypostasis Cryo and killing it while it is unable to fight will unlock the "...One Night Job" achievement.
