Konami o eFootball - Paid DLC, Crossplay Rules and Online Changes
Konami has answered frequently asked questions about eFootball, the upcoming installment of the Pro Evolution Soccer series. Among other things, the topic of paid additions to the game and the possibility of cross-play were discussed.
Out of the blue, Konami posted a FAQ thread on Twitter about the upcoming Pro Evolution Soccer series titled eFootball and immediately gave short but specific answers that certainly dispel some doubts about the game.
In the second half of July, we learned that the base game will be completely free. Many fans have wondered if this also applies to the popular career mode called Master League. We immediately answer no. This mode will be added in the future as a paid DLC; a similar fate is likely to await the rest of the single-player modes.
At the very beginning (early autumn), players will receive a kind of demo. It is true that more details will be given, but we know one hundred percent that we will only have a few licensed clubs that we will be able to compete with both real opponents and artificial intelligence. One of Konami's most controversial announcements in eFootball was cross-play, that is, the ability to play on the same servers of owners of all target hardware platforms, i.e. PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and .. . mobile devices. It was believed that pairing phone users with next-gen console owners in one match would not make the new PES just worse. Konami assures that there will be no such cognitive dissonance.
The game had to be developed with the ninth generation of consoles in mind, and only then were attempts made to optimize it for mobile devices. Thus, the graphical changes in the above match will only be experienced by people using Android or iOS. Versions of the game for new consoles will not be technologically backward. Also, interestingly, Konami will allow us to use the detailed opponent search options, in which we can mark users on which platforms we want to play.
The last change worth noting is the change to the online mode known to us as MyClub. This is a new way to get not only more players for your team, but also a number of other rewards. I'm talking about the Match Pass, which is probably somewhat similar to the so-called battle pass known from various online games, that is, the reward system in regular games. This will no doubt motivate players to stay with the title even longer.
