When will The Last of Us Part 1 be released on PC?

The Last of Us Part 1 was released for the PlayStation 5 in September 2022 to critical acclaim. Acting as a remake of the 3 PlayStation 2013 original, Naughty Dog's iconic adventure has turned heads just as it did nearly a decade ago. Built on the studio's latest rendering technology, this remake also showcases what Sony's latest home console is visually capable of.

With the highly anticipated live-action adaptation from HBO coming, PC fans are waiting to relive Ellie and Joel's adventure. Fortunately, their patience will be rewarded on March 3, 2023.

PC Fans Will Be Happy When The Last of Us Part 1 Releases Later This Year

As mentioned above, The Last of Us Part 1 is scheduled to release on PC on March 3, 2023. In about a month and a half, this launch will mark the first release of the franchise on PC.

This will be another addition to the ever-growing list of PlayStation ports on the platform. The publisher's previous efforts include Days Gone, God of War (2018), Marvel's Spiderman Remastered, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure.

As you can see from these games and the port of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, it's safe to assume that The Last of Us Part 1 will be a solid transformation for PC players. For now, we don't have any information on the technical details. However, this should offer an improvement even over the PlayStation 5 version if players have a powerful enough PC.

What is the game about?

The Last of Us Part 1 follows the same format and narrative as the PlayStation 3 original. Set in the post-apocalyptic United States, it follows Joel and Ellie as they attempt to survive the horrors caused by a fungus mutation that has turned most of the population into zombie-like creatures.

Various survivors will also meet along the journey, but can they be trusted in a world where everyone is trying to take care of themselves?

The gameplay has a third-person perspective as players explore the various levels and sets just like Joel (and sometimes Ellie). The format will be somewhat familiar to Uncharted fans. However, it is slower and exudes an almost terrible vibe.

Players will have a variety of weapons at their disposal, from pistols to shotguns. Crafting is key to crafting consumables such as molotovs and healing supplies.

The DLC add-on for the original game called "Left Behind" is also included in this remake. This is more centered around Ellie and was released in 2014. The action takes place through two arcs, one of which takes place a few weeks before the original events, where Ellie spends time with her best friend Riley.

Another segment takes place during the final hours of the base game, when Ellie must hunt for supplies to patch up an injured Joel. Unfortunately, the PlayStation 3's multiplayer mode is not available in the remake, so players won't be able to enjoy the action-packed PvP combat they did back then.
