When will Apex Legends Season 6 start? Season 5 End Date, New Legend, etc…
There are still a few weeks left in Apex Legends Season 5 Lucky Smile, but it's never too early to watch Season 6 and we've got everything there is to know.
The release of Season 5 on May 12 brought a lot of changes and new content to Apex Legends, including the introduction of the Loba legend, Kings Canyon tweaks, brand new seasonal quests, and more.
While players will have some time to enjoy what Lucky Smile has brought them, it's always worth keeping in mind when the next chapter of the battle royale should begin.
When will Apex Legends Season 6 start?
While not yet confirmed, the current most likely release date for Season 6 is Tuesday, August 18, 2020 . According to the in-game menu, as of June 2, the Season 5 Battle Pass has 76 days left, which means it is scheduled to end on Monday, August 17. Since most major Apex updates and seasonal launches happen on Tuesdays, we think Season 6 will start the next day.
Of course, there's always a chance that Respawn will delay launch just like they did with Season 5, which was done to accommodate the Battle Armor event and give players an extra week to pull all the tails.
Who is the new legend in Apex Legends Season 6?
So far, each season has introduced a new Legend, and Season 6 should follow suit. Who it will be remains a big mystery, but current speculation is that it will be Rampart, the character that was originally dumped almost a year ago . However, it seems that Rampart will actually be female, despite earlier rumors and leaked images of the character pointing to the contrary.
Images of a new legend called "Nova" have been found in the game's files, although they are now, seems to be for Rampart, according to renowned Apex Legends insider Shrugtal.
The previous leak also revealed the character's supposed abilities , and one of them, "My friend Maxim", apparently "installs a heavy machine gun that can be used by anyone in the squad", with other unique abilities corresponding to the merged engineer.
Will Apex Legends Season 6 have new weapons?
Until season five, that would have been an automatic yes, but now that we know Lucky Smile surprisingly didn't introduce a new weapon, we can't be that sure of that answer.
However, one could argue that since no new weapons were added for the first time in the game's brief history, it's now more likely that Respawn will do so in Season 6 so as not to antagonize players about the lack of new content.
As for what the new weapons will be, we should go back to the ones we expected to see in season 5 - the Volt SMG or the CAR SMG, both of which were introduced in Titanfall 2. It would make sense for the developers to add a new submachine gun , given that this was the only weapon category they hadn't expanded since launch.
Will Apex Legends Season 6 have a new map?
It would be far from out of the question that Respawn would introduce a new map for Season 6. Kings Canyon and World's End have seen their share of significant changes in their first five seasons, so unless the developers have something even more drastic in mind, it might be time for Apex Games to move to a whole new destination.
This assumption is not just based on optimism; V job listing on the Respawn website it says that the new employee will "create and own large-scale multiplayer maps running through gameplay blocking in a live game environment," which can really only mean one thing.
Additionally, Respawn gave the main hint during the Season 5 finale of Broken Ghost Quest, and Lifeline dropped the line that they should travel to a new world called Psamathe.
While Psamate was teased in the Lucky Smile trailer, it's now likely to be a Season 6 card. The Apex Medic also suggested that the team "go to Olympus", which could be the arena on this new planet. Similar UFO structure was also discovered in the game files and could be used to transfer legends.
Does this mean that there will be a new map in season 6? Not really, these expected changes could happen for Season 7 or 8. Time will tell.
This sums up everything we know about Season 6 so far, but there will undoubtedly be even more information we learn about the next chapter of Apex Legends as we get closer to it. As always, follow usto get the latest news, updates, guides and more.
