How to get bait in Raft

It is impossible to catch fish without bait in Raft! Here is how easy it is to get fishing lure in the popular survival game.

Last update for Raft introduced three new types of fishing lures to the game: simple lure, advanced lure, and expert lure. All three types can buy at the Trading Postbut it's not as easy as it seems. You will also need to increase your reputation.

Each of the three types of fishing lures is available at different levels of any available trading post:

  • Level 1: Simple lure.
  • Level of 2: Advanced lure.
  • Level 3: Expert lure.

All three types cost 1 die compacted garbage, but you must also have a good enough reputation in the trading post to unlock level 2 and level 3. The only way to increase your reputation is to sell raw fish to a trading post.

Lure Unlock Level 1

To purchase your first lure at a Trading Post, you must:

  1. Create a recycler
  2. Do at least 1 pressed trash at the processor.
  3. Go to any big island with trading post.
  4. Get a simple bait for 1 pressed garbage to get 1 level.

To use the lure you just purchased, craft either a wooden rod or a metal rod. Here are the recipes:

Recipe for making a wooden fishing rod.

  • 6 Wooden board.
  • 8 Rope.

Recipe for crafting a metal fishing rod.

  • 8 Rope.
  • 3 Scrap
  • 1 bolt.

Lure Unlock Level 2

Once you have a fishing rod and a simple bait, equip them and head to the nearest water source. Select a bait using RMB and press LMB to cast or reel into the bait.

You can now sell the fish you catch at the trading post, which will increase your reputation and unlock level 2, where you can buy Advanced Lure.

Lure Unlock Level 3

Repeat the same steps as with Advanced Bait and you will catch the best fish which will unlock Tier 3 at the trading post where you can finally purchase the third and final Expert Bait.

The rate of decline in the fishery following:

  • Raw pomfret / Raw herring: 25,49%
  • Raw Tilapia / Raw Mackerel: 18,91%
  • Raw catfish/raw salmon: 3,29%
  • Candle bottle / Old shoes: 1,63%
  • Lucky Cat / Mechanical Duck Scrap: 0.66%
