The Grappling Hook is one of the Night Runner's tools in Dying Light 2. Here's how you can get it.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human is a huge open world game that offers a variety of unique combat tools to keep it fresh for over 500 hours of total gameplay

Like its predecessor, Techland's latest game emphasizes parkour and traverse that feels much more refined and responsive than the original. Throughout the game's 20-25 hour main story, you'll unlock multiple progression tools that add variety to an already compelling parkour loop.

These tools are called Nightrunner tools and the grappling hook is one of them. Here's how you can unlock the grappling hook in Dying Light 2.

How to get a grappling hook in Dying Light 2?

The hook allows you to climb onto the roofs of houses. In addition, with it you can make long jumps between buildings, which will make it easier to move around the open world of the game.

Acquiring a grappling hook in Dying Light 2 can take approximately 15-30 hours, depending on the number of side quests you choose to complete. However, the time may also depend on the number of GRE quarantine zones, anomalies, dark zones, and other additional actions you choose to perform.

You will receive this useful tool as you progress through the story mission "Broadcasting". You won’t pass by - without a hook, you simply won’t be able to complete the task. Unfortunately, this will happen far from the very beginning of the passage of Dying Light 2.

Another useful tool associated with the Broadcast mission is the Korek amulet, which allows you to endlessly repair melee weapons. More about it we told in a separate guide.

As with other Nightrunner tools in Dying Light 2, you can upgrade your grappling hook twice. In order to upgrade it, you must find a Craftsman in any Peacekeepers or Survivor Settlements throughout Vildor.

The first update allows you to attach the grappling hook to any surface and gain additional speed in that direction. This upgrade will cost you 2 Military Tech and 2000 Old Money.

The second update adds the ability to pull enemies closer (like in Fortnite or Apex Legends). Keep in mind that while you can pull enemies through the grappling hook, you cannot deal any damage to them with it. This upgrade will cost you 3 Military Vehicles and 3000 Old World Money.

That concludes our grapple hook guide. Be sure to check out our special section Dying Light 2 for more news, features and guides.
