How to Find Petrified Wood in New World
There is only one, rather difficult way to find Petrified Wood in the New World.
The petrified tree is one of New World's biggest early game mysteries., and will probably remain so for some time.
For players attempting to craft items such as the Hunter's Fire Rift Staff or Adept Cryomancer's Gauntlet, both magical weapons require wood. However, many players don't understand how to actually get the Petrified Wood that these recipes require.
Below, players can see exactly how they can get Petrified Wood in the New World and even increase their chances of finding it in Eternum.
Looking for petrified wood in the New World
Currently, the only way to get Petrified Wood is through luck. You can technically find wood by cutting down young, mature, or dead trees along with some sort of cactus in the New World.
Of course, by cutting down these trees, you will pretty much end up with a green tree along with some form of resin or sap. Though you also have a small chance to add petrified wood to your inventory by cutting down those specific trees.
The chance is low and many players may not even realize they have purchased wood. After all, the skill of journaling can sometimes be a little pointless.
However, if players increase their journaling skill, they will find themselves earning more petrified wood over time. Additionally, adding Logging Luck items to your gear in the New World will give you more wood than you previously earned. By increasing your logging level by using higher level axes and getting lucky, you will eventually find enough petrified wood in the New World.
