GTA 6 will be released in 2023! Proofs
Could GTA 6 be set to release in 2023? Take-Two's latest earnings forecast showed that parent company Rockstar is poised for "record" earnings in the near future, potentially exiting GTA's next launch window.
After years of rumors and speculation, we now know for sure that GTA 6 is in development. Though even with this confirmation directly from Rockstar, we're still no closer to knowing when the long-awaited sequel might come out.
A slew of leaks in recent months have claimed it could be around the corner, while various insiders have advised fans not to hold their breath. Some have even suggested that we can wait until 2025.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, Take-Two has, however, revealed early plans for a major launch. As the publisher braces for "record" earnings, 2023 has been identified as a year of overall earnings growth, perhaps indicating when GTA 6 could hit store shelves.
While it's still "too early to make detailed recommendations for next year," Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said in a Q3 2022 earnings report year, he was happy to announce the company's immediate goals.
Namely, fiscal 2023 is expected to mark "net profit growth" for the GTA publisher thanks to several "exciting releases".
The industry giant just posted net orders of $833 million and GTA is still one of its "biggest contributors".
The series has now shipped over 370 million units in total, Take-Two announced, with GTA 5 accounting for 160 million of those sales.
With plans for 2023 to be its biggest year yet, Take-Two could point to the launch of GTA 6. What better way to set new company records than a sequel to the second best-selling video game of all time?
“Each iteration for all of our successful franchises at this company, all of them, has always been better than the last.” сказал Zelnick in an interview with IGN Feb. 7. "I'm not saying it will happen again, I'm not saying it's guaranteed, but that's definitely our goal."
Clearly, Take-Two has plenty of blockbuster IPs that could help lead to a record-breaking year. Thus, it is worth taking these comments with a grain of salt for GTA. But Zelnick added that "much more information" about the upcoming sequel will be "handled in time."
Take-Two is expected to reveal further details about its 2023 roadmap during a "May QXNUMX call," company president Carl Slatoff continued.
