Remasters of GTA 3, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas Unreal Engine are being prepared for this Fall

Kotaku's report did justice to many of the rumors about the upcoming remaster of the trilogy, and it's now believed to be coming to PlayStation 5| PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, Stadia, mobile devices and even the Nintendo Switch console.

According to the report, we're in for a mix of "new and old graphics" for the remastered GTA trilogy. The graphics fidelity is compared to the complex community mods that have boosted the visuals for these games in the past.

Interestingly, while there have been no gameplay details, it looks like Rockstar is trying to "stay true to PS2-era GTA games," according to a report from Kotaku.

Rumor has it that the developers are trying to keep the classic feel of these games by giving things like the user interface a remaster while keeping the most classic elements intact.

Fans of 2016's Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy, which included the same three titles believed to be released in 2021, will be all too familiar with the formula.

For months, we've seen Rockstar's weird moves both inside and outside the studio, including blocking popular mods for Vice City, San Andreas, and GTA 3.

It was widely believed that the takedowns were related to a future Rockstar project, seeing how mods that had been widely available for years were abruptly removed.

The titles in the remastered trilogy have yet to be confirmed, but more official details are expected closer to release.

Following a shuffle of priorities in the Rockstar studio tree, the trilogy remaster is now in the final stages before a targeted launch in late 2021.

No date has been mentioned, but the studio is believed to be aiming to release the GTA Remastered trilogy around October or November 2021.
