About Minecraft

Minecraft (Russian: "Miner's craft") is a sandbox video game written in Java, C++, Objective-C, and XNA. The game was originally created by Markus "Notch" Persson and is now maintained by Mojang Studios, operated by Microsoft Studios. For an idea Minecraft the game has had a significant impact Infiniminer.

From the very beginning Minecraft developed almost exclusively by Notch until Jens "Jeb" Bergensten started working with him. Subsequently, Jeb became the lead developer of this game. IN Minecraft there is music by Daniel "C418" Rosenfeld and paintings by Kristoffer Zetterstrand. The game was originally released on May 10, 2009 in the version now called Minecraft Classic, but in the official release phase Minecraft entered November 18, 2011. Post-release Minecraft has been ported to mobile devices and consoles. November 6, 2014 Minecraft and all Mojang assets were acquired by Microsoft.

Minecraft aims to give the player the freedom to explore, interact with, and modify the dynamically generated map. Such a map consists of blocks of 1 cubic meter in size. In addition to blocks, the player character's environment contains plants, mobs, and objects. In the game, you can perform various kinds of actions, for example: extract ore in a mine, fight hostile mobs, create (craft) new blocks and tools using the resources mined in the game. The unlimited game model allows players to create structures and artwork on different servers in multiplayer mode or on their own single player maps. Other features of the game include building redstone circuits for logic calculations and interacting with distant objects, minecarts and rails, and a mysterious underworld called the Nether. In the end, there is a completely optional goal of the game - travel to a dimension called the End and defeat the Ender dragon.

Game process

Player

A player is a character in the game world controlled by the user. When the user starts the game, a player with an empty inventory is placed in a world that is generated using a random or specified seed. If the "Bonus Chest" option is enabled, a chest filled with basic items is generated near the player. The player has a health bar with ten hearts. Health can be reduced by falling, suffocating, drowning, fire, lava, lightning, cacti, falling into the Nether, or being hit by hostile mobs. Health damage can be reduced by armor, and health can be restored by eating food, and if the difficulty is on Peaceful, health is restored by itself. Hunger also affects the game. If the difficulty is higher than Peaceful, satiety points are removed over time, and when running - even faster. Food restores satiety points; eating rotten flesh or raw chicken can inflict the player with the Hunger effect. Low satiety results in a decrease in the player's health in an amount depending on the difficulty level.

The player can change their skin on the profile page on Minecraft.net.

Blocks

Blocks are the objects that make up the world Minecraft. They were taken from the source of inspiration Minecraft - games Infiniminer. There are different types of blocks; natural blocks such as turf, stone and ores are randomly generated within the world. There are also blocks that the player can craft, such as a workbench or an oven. Resources can be extracted from blocks by hand or using tools. Some of these resources are simple blocks in the player's inventory that can be placed elsewhere, while others are used as materials to create other blocks or tools. Other resources have no practical application at all. Some blocks cannot be broken normally in Survival Mode, including bedrock, the End Portal Frame, and Command Blocks.

Mining

Various ores that can be mined near lava

As the name of the game suggests, resource extraction is one of the main aspects Minecraft. The block mining process extracts ores and other materials from the depths of the map. These ores include coal, iron, gold, redstone, diamonds, lapis lazuli, and emeralds. These resources are critical in the manufacture of a number of useful items. Extraction of resources may include digging mines or descending through caves. Abandoned mines can also be used to search for minerals.

Crafting and firing

Craft allows players to create new tools и Blocks using items from inventory. Craft was first implemented in Indevand Notch expanded the list of crafting recipes by adding new options, blocks and items. For crafting, you can use located in inventory 2×2 grid or provided workbench 3×3 grid. For firing (or melting), transforming blocks like iron ore into more useful forms (for example, iron ingots), required bake and fuel.

Potions and Enchanting

guide

Potions and Enchanting are game elements added in Minecraft 1.0. Potions are used to create potions from various ingredients and water on a brewing stand. These potions are stored in flasks and cause an effect based on the ingredients used to create them, either when consumed by the player or thrown at other mobs. Enchanting is used to improve armor, tools and weapons using an enchanting table. If you place bookcases around this table, you can access more powerful enchantments that require more experience.

Mobs

Mobs (from English. Mobile phone number - abbreviation from mobile, which means "mobile entities") - animals and other creatures that inhabit the world. Among them are zombies that attack melee and summon other zombies; skeletons shooting arrows from a bow; spiders that jump long distances and climb walls; and creepers that explode as they approach the player. Of the rare mobs, a skeleton rider (a skeleton riding a spider) and a zombie rider (a child zombie riding a chicken); the enderman, a tall black creature with purple eyes that becomes aggressive if the player looks at it; slugs spawning deep underground and in swamps, and some other mobs. Ghasts live in the Nether (aggressive flying mobs that spit fireballs); zombie pigmen - neutral creatures, modified pigmen with golden swords; lava cubes, similar to slugs, but jumping a little higher. In the world of the End, there is an Ender dragon and Ender wanderers. Withers can be summoned from any dimension.

There are friendly mobs that help players: pigs, cows, chickens, sheep, rabbits and octopuses, as well as six types of tameable mobs: wolves, ocelots, horses, donkeys, mules and parrots. Wolves attack enemy mobs and mobs attacked by or attacking players. Cats, or tamed ocelots, take no fall damage and scare creepers away. Friendly mobs other than wolves give resources when killed, such as beef, pork, chicken, wool, leather, and ink sacs. Types of meat change to fried if the mob was on fire at the time of the kill.

At the moment, only one type of mob, villagers, represents NPCs. Villagers spawn in and walk around villages.

lower world

В Minecraft The Nether is a dimension that can be accessed from the Overworld through a Nether portal. The Underworld was described by Notch as "a whole new hellish world". This world is made up mostly of hellstone, and lava pools are generated in it. The nether world is inhabited by zombie pigmen, ifrits, ghasts, wither skeletons, and lava cubes.

Edge

The End is another dimension in the game in which the player fights the End Dragon. The End can be accessed through the End portal located in any fortress. The End consists of End Stone and is inhabited by End Wanderers. It also contains an Obsidian Pillar and Ender Dragon healing Ender Crystals.

Multiplayer game

Multiplayer was introduced on June 8, 2009 for Classic and later (August 4, 2010) as SMP (Survival Multiplayer). Multiplayer, as a multiplayer game is also called, has become a popular aspect of the game since its introduction. Servers for online play in Minecraft began to create their own rules and customs, and the game is run by administrators and moderators. The term "griefer" (i.e. a player causing harm to players) is often used on the Internet, but in the context of servers Minecraft got its definition: a person who destroys or desecrates the buildings of other players.

Griefers are the reason many server admins enforce the rules of the game, and that fight has gone further with Minecraft server mods and even plugin-based alternative servers like Bukkit. Since such servers support plugins, servers Minecraft there are many user-created features. Among them are money, transport, protection, elements of role-playing games and more. Usually these features do not require modification of the client by the user and can be activated by chat commands. When using the default control settings, the chat is opened with the button T.

Among the popular mini-games on multiplayer servers is the sprif (play on words with a reference to grievance). In this game, the player's task is to make the other player fall under the floor, for which it is necessary to destroy the blocks under the opponent's feet. This game is usually played in dedicated arenas.

Minecraft Realms

Minecraft Realms - official service for hosting (hosting) servers with a paid subscription. This service allows players to create their own personal servers Minecraft and manage them. The Realms service is hosted by Mojang and provides an easy and fast way to create servers and allows the owner to manage them from the game client. This does not require knowledge of the principles of placing programs on the Internet. But it should be noted that Realms are not designed for large public servers: they are more suitable for groups of friends or families. Non-public Realms can be easily created and configured and will be available 24/7.
