Epic Permanently Banned Famous Fortnite HYPEX Insider For 3 Years Ago Incident
Epic Games has decided to permanently ban HYPEX, a well-known Fortnite data miner, for an incident that happened three years ago.
In a strange turn of events, Epic Games permanently banned popular Fortnite insider, HYPEX, for violating the rules of the game in 2018.
This came after an equally obscure ban during the FNCS when the 100 Thieves team (led by MrSavage) were eliminated mid-match, ending up dropping loads of points just when they needed them.
Insider has expressed his disappointment on Twitter and is pleading with the gaming giant to lift the ban.
Fortnite HYPEX lifetime ban
In a Twitter post dated September 9, HYPEX informed its followers that it received a lifetime in-game ban for "account transfer" in 2018, which is three years ago.
“Epic said that I was caught for “account transfer,” laments the insider. “All because my friend gave me his account in 2018 when I lost mine. After all the love I gave to the game from the start and sticking with it through its ups and downs, I was punished for a simple mistake that I didn't know about.
“No one knows how much I really love this game,” continues the victim. "And I can give MANY reasons why my ban is unfair, I've already talked about some of those reasons to Epic in private, hoping they'll reconsider this, but it looks like I'll be ignored again."
At the time of writing, the original tweet has over 16k upvotes and the comments section is flooded with other players supporting their attempts to unlock the account.
Two hashtags were also created to try and harness the power of social media, and fans of his content rallied behind #FreeHYPEX and #UnbanHYPEX.
While both HYPEX and the wider community are clearly devastated by Epic's decision, things could change. We'll have to wait and see how things develop, but for now, PortalVirtualReality joins the petition to lift the HYPEX ban!
