Diablo 4 Prologue: Journey Walkthrough

Welcome to our guide to the prologue of the game Diablo 4. Here you will find detailed information about each stage of your adventure in the introductory part of the game Prologue: Wanderings.

You have to choose one of five heroes: barbarian, necromancer, magician, robber or druid. You will be able to customize your character's appearance, including gender, face, body, hair, and accessories. After that, enter your character's name and select the type of tutorial prompts and difficulty level: Adventurer or Veteran.

Twilight on the mountain

Your first steps will take you to the Broken Peaks, a snowy region of Sanctuary. Waking up in a cave, you will need to find shelter from the upcoming storm. To determine the direction, open the map and note the golden symbol below.

There, in the city, you can find safety and shelter. Start descending the mountain by following the sign on the map in the upper right corner. Your path will be crossed by Wargs, the first enemies you have to defeat or dodge.

Keep moving forward and you'll come across more and more enemies to fight (and smash some loot!). Then go through the gate and you will find yourself in the small abandoned town of Nevesc. Here you will hear a mysterious voice calling you. Follow the voice to the house on the left and enter the door.

Inside the house, you will be met by Oswen, Vani and a mysterious stranger talking about the demons that break out of the ruins. Vani, one of the villagers, promises to explain the whole situation to you. Follow her outside and join the other villagers to a small tavern where you can chat about the current situation and learn more about where you are and what's going on in Sanctuary.

In the tavern, you will also meet a healer named Stanis and an armor merchant named Isbel who can assist you on your journey. Vani will ask you if you are able to protect them from all the dangers that lurk in the ruins. Now it's your time to set off to explore these mysterious ruins.

Darkness in the Deep:

In the north, you will enter the Icehowl Dungeons in Diablo 4. You will have to face fast beasts and fallen devils in Hell's Corridors of Corruption, which will be an obstacle in your path. You have to fight a boss called Z'Phal the Scarred Baron. When you enter the summoning hall, where the prologue begins, you will find a decapitated priest, after which the first boss will come at you. You will have to dodge his jumps, avoid blood stars on the floor and dodge fire projectiles.

How to defeat Z'Phal the Scarred Baron

Z'Phal wields a huge club that he swings quickly, so this is the perfect time to master the dodge button. Timing is extremely important here, especially since the dodge has a XNUMX second cooldown. Therefore, you need to dodge at the right moment when he raises the club.

In addition to a simple vertical club swing (which creates a devastating wave on impact), Z'Phal can also perform a cumbersome strike. When you see him moving his club arm over the opposite shoulder, slip under the other arm to avoid getting hit. He also sometimes shoots fire projectiles, so it's useful to get around him from the other side and attack from behind.

However, the most important thing is that Z'Fal forms a pentagram on the ground, which means that he is preparing for a powerful attack. He will make this attack three times, indicated by red markers on his health bar.

During this time, he will also summon Hellstorms to attack you. As long as you deal with them, you can deal additional damage to the boss when he is in the air. He will then jump up and try to land on you. A circle will appear on the ground indicating the landing point, so you can quickly jump to the side.

After defeating him, you will receive a lot of items. Grab them and then you can return to the Icehowl location using the rope from behind.

Hero's return:

Back on the surface, head back to Nevesk Village and speak with Vani. The villagers will treat you and see you off until you pass out. After that, you will be taken to the barn, where you will find that all the inhabitants turned out to be fanatics.

Hero Reward:

You will be saved by the mad Joseph, and together with him you will have to fight off the inhabitants. You will find Vanya's key, which unlocks access to the chapel. To the south, you will be able to unlock the chapel with this key and examine the strange petals it contains.

Salvation Prayers:

You will see a story in which a local priest and his worshipers fall under the influence of Lilith, the Daughter of Hatred. After waking up, Joseph will instruct you to warn another hermit and bring him to the Cathedral.

Looking for answers:

Move further north, activating Lilith's altar to increase your stats. Enter the caves and fight the spiders. In a large clearing to the north, you will find a hut where, by sliding the top cabinet, you will open a secret room. At this time, Lorat, the hermit, will return from hunting.

Dedication:

Your task is to escort Lorat to Kiovashad. After passing through the forest with the fallen, you will stop at the statue of the angel Inarius, which Lorat will examine. Upon entering the city, the gate will inform you that you need to undergo a purification ritual. At the booth, you can choose one of the sins that hinder you: fear, anger, pride or greed.

Missing links:

In the city, you will go to the blacksmith Ozren, who will give you a strange amulet, as well as help you sell unwanted weapons and armor. Show the amulet to Lorat, he will know that it belongs to the Horadrim. Lorat will go to the Dry Steppes, and you will be sent in search of another Horadrim. You can also take your horse in the stalls to speed up your movements.
