Diablo 4: What We Know So Far
German gaming magazine GameStar has come across its own leak. In particular, they received an indication that Diablo 4 is in development.
GameStar's latest copy contains ads for the upcoming The Art of Diablo book, featuring core concepts, key arts, and more throughout the franchise. However, if the advert is to be believed, there will also be hints of a yet-to-be-announced Diablo IV.
Of course, being a game reporting log, they reported this new "leak" passed to them. A copy of the announcement officially reads:
“This book features over 500 titles from Diablo, Diablo II, Diablo III, and Diablo IV, celebrating Blizzard Entertainment's acclaimed RPG that gave generations of fans nightmares.
Even if you don't read German, unmistakably, you can see the words "Diablo IV" there.
There are also images of the advertisement now that the magazine is out:
If you live in Germany, they have described exactly where you can find it: in their new edition, p. 27. (Remember to support all forms of gaming journalism!)
There is little precedent for these details to come out. The next major title in Blizzard's acclaimed series has been hotly anticipated for some time, especially after Diablo III was released back in 2012. (It's been seven years already!) Rumors about the development of the game have spread.
According to a Kotaku feature, Blizzard has been working on Diablo's next big project since 2016. Le Monde also reports that Blizzard Paris showed off an early version of the game earlier this year. We now have some possible proof that this is not just a mass legend.
Many expect the next title to be officially announced at Blizzcon. A streamer named Metro has already stated ahead of this new leak that Diablo IV and Overwatch 2 will be announced at the annual superfan event. He claims the source is the same as the one who reliably leaked Ash's Overwatch announcement.
We'll see if this all kicks in between November 1st and 3rd when Blizzcon takes place in Anaheim, California. If you're craving the book too, it's out November 3rd, the last day of Blizzcon. You can pre-order it on Amazon or other bookstores.
