Diablo 2: Resurrected - Act 3 Walkthrough Guide to All Act Quests

Welcome to walkthrough guide Act III for Diablo II: Resurrected. This guide will walk you through the Act III quests, how to complete them, and how to unlock Act IV in Diablo II: Resurrected.

Act III - Doki Kurasta

Docks of Kurast your new home in act III. Immediately after logging in, you can talk to Hratley., and this is the blacksmith in this city. After you leave the city for the first time, it will return to its usual place in the center of this small village. Since the Docks are more scattered than other cities, it's important to note where he lives if you need to repair your equipment. Speaking of equipment, resistance still reigns supreme in Act III. You'll also likely have a better idea of what your build will be like at this point, so it's important to choose gear that suits your needs. Lastly, while you can probably miss out on most of the magical gear that drops, we recommend always picking up enchants to see if they're useful. In the end, your gear will give you the resistance you need, but at lower levels, it's always nice to get a little help.

Task number 1. Golden Bird

Recommended level: 22-24.

As soon as you leave the city, you will meet Diablo in the form of "The Lone Wanderer". You cannot attack him now, but he will disappear soon. He leaves behind a pack of flesh beasts that you can quickly kill. As you continue walking through the desert, you will eventually encounter a unique monster or champion monster. When you put it down, a Jade Figurine will drop from the corpse. Take her to town and give her back Meshife . He will give you a golden bird which you can carry Alcora . He will give you an elixir called the Potion of Life. This gives you a permanent 20 extra HP, so drink it now.

Task number 2. Blade of the Old Religion

You can get this quest from Hratley, or it will start when it finds what it is looking for. While traveling through the Flayer Jungle dungeon, you can find a plinth with a dagger called Gidbinn. But when you try to take it, a group of monsters appears and the pedestal lights up. After killing them, we get the blade Gidbinn (Gidbinn). Take it to Ormus в Kurast. Then talk to Asheroy, and if you don't have one, you'll get a companion. Talking again with Ormus, receive a ring.

Reward: ring, possibly unique and partner (if there is already a mercenary, it is not replaced).

Task number 3. Khalim's Will

This quest is given to you by Kain when you enter the Great Swamp, or complete the first quest. Kaine will tell you what you need to kill Mephisto, which is located in Focus of Hate, under the protection of an indestructible Orb that can only be destroyed with Halim's Will - this device will need to be collected and restored.

We have to find 4 items: halim's eyeHalim's brainHalim's heartand Halim's flail. All parts are scattered around Kurast in different corners, about this in order.

Halim's eye. You can find the first element in the Spider Cave, which is located in the Spider Forest. Just go through the forest and you will find several forks, which will have the entrance you need. Players are often confused, and mistakenly enter the Lair of Arachnids, although there is nothing there except for the latter. In the Spider Cave, you will need to find a chest, it contains Halim's eye. A unique spider monster runs near the chest, with its minions. Strong enough. Having taken the eye, we return to the city to Kain. He will tell you about the next item.

Halim's brain. Brains can be found on level 3 of the Flayer Dungeon. To get there, you need to go from the Spider Forest to the Great Swamp, and from there to Flayer Jungle. In the jungle of the same name, look for branches to find a teleport, and the entrance to the Flayer Dungeons. Often it is generated in such a way that Gidbinn and the entrance to the Flayer Dungeons appear nearby, and Gidbinn can be taken along the way. In the caves we have to go through 3 levels, in which, of course, those flayers will be. There will be a lot of them here: all colors and types. They run very fast and hit hard, besides, everything is complicated by the narrow passages of the dungeon. However, this is where "massive skills" can come in handy. Having reached the 3rd level of the Flayer Dungeon, you will have to go through a kind of labyrinth, in the last room of which there will be a bunch of flayer shamans with a leader, as well as a treasured chest that you are so used to. Be careful, because shamans breathe fire heavily in close combat, and they almost completely demolish. Having dealt with the monsters, we take the treasured brains from the chest and go to the city, to Kain. He will tell you about the next item.

Halim's heart. Our path lies in the city of Kurast. In the area of Bazar Kurast and Upper Kurast, there is an entrance to the Sewerage of the first level. Two entrances at the Bazaar, and two entrances at Upper Kurast. You can go into any of them, because it is impossible to guess where the entrance to the 2nd level will be. After descending into the Sewers, you will see a huge area teeming with the undead, where you have to go through many corridors, but my advice is to go along the wall and you will quickly find the entrance to the second level of the Sewers. The entrance will be marked. After that, you will find yourself in a small room full of chests, one of which will contain Halim's Heart. We take the Heart and bring it to Kain. He will tell you about the next item.

Tsep Halima. Now, we have to go through the whole city of Kurast to the end. Tep is located in the farthest part of it - Travinkale, this is the place where the High Council is located. It should be noted right away that the Flail must be knocked out from one of the members of the High Council. To get to Travinkal, you need to leave Upper Kurast to the dam, and from there to Travinkal. In Travincal itself, you will be met by hordes of bloodthirsty demons, and you will also meet the High Council there - they are located in the building in front of the square. Advisors are very strong and good things drop out of them. One of them will drop a Flail.
We select it, and go to the city to Kain. The old man will tell you that you need to restore the ancient artifact "Halim's Will". To do this, you need to place in the Horadric Cube  halim's eyeHalim's brainHalim's heartand Halim's flail and click on the "mix" button. A legendary item will appear before your eyes Halim's will. With this, the quest will be completed. By the way, the Flail can be used as a weapon - it has not bad combat characteristics. But it is still better not to lose it, and bring it to the sixth quest, because it will play a key role.

Task number 4. Lam Esen's Tome book

This quest is optional, although completing it will bring a good reward. If you want to complete it, then go to Alkor. He will tell you about this only if you complete the 2nd quest, or go to the abandoned temple of Kurast. The alchemist will tell you that the ancient sage Lam Esen possessed great magic, and captured his knowledge in his tome, called the Black Book. After the invasion of Diablo and his brothers, the book was lost, and Alkor suspects that it may be in one of the ancient temples in Kurast. No sooner said than done. Ancient temples are located in the Kurast Bazaar, in Upper Kurast, and on the Kurast dam. There are 6 of them in total, that is, at each location there can be 2 pieces. Moreover, Lam Esen's book can be in anyone.

Therefore, you will have to run around all the temples. In the right temple that the tome is in, you will find a pedestal, and on it is Lam Esen's tome. We take the book and go to the city to Alcor. The Alchemist will reward you with 5 points to your character's stats.

Task number 5. The Blackened Temple

This quest is required and is connected to quest 3. This quest will appear automatically when you approach the high council building in Travincal, or can be obtained from Ormus after completing the fourth quest. For many centuries, six advisers guarded the place of detention of Mephisto, in the temple city Travincal.

The High Council is not the same as before, under the influence of Mephistopheles, they lost their minds and succumbed to the influence of demons. We have to kill the high council of Kurast. Three of them are in the main building of Travincala, and three in the dungeon of Hatred. To complete the quest, you need to kill three advisors located in Travincal. It should be said right away that these are very strong opponents. We will have to deal with:

  • Ismail the Vile Hand He is very fast and knows how to curse.
  • Jeleb Firefinger - very strong, in particular physical damage, and also uses fire, and explodes upon death.
  • Turk Frostfist - He has stone skin, which makes him extremely resistant to physical damage, and is also enchanted with cold, and emits frost nova upon death.

The bridgehead (square) in front of the building should be cleared of monsters before going to the advisers. After everyone was killed in the square, go forward. If you run into them in the council building, then you can simply not get back and see fireworks from dozens of hydras at the last moment. It is best to lure them out one by one, and deal with them one on one, it will be easier. In addition, it happens that a dozen other monsters run around them. On the "Hell" difficulty, the advisers have a huge amount of immunities to the elements, physical damage, in a random (random) order. The advisors are proficient with the Hydra sorceress spell and are also able to heal themselves.

After the advisers die, the quest will be completed. It is worth noting that one of the advisers drops the relic "Halim's flail", which is needed for the 3rd quest, and in order to destroy the indestructible sphere that sealed the entrance to Mephistopheles' dungeon.

Task number 6. The Guardian

The last quest of Act III is relatively difficult. This is a required quest, given to you by Ormus, or automatically unlocked when you enter the 1st level Hatred Dungeon. Ormus will tell you that Diablo and Baal have probably already reached the temple city, and are in a hurry to free their brother Mephisto, who was imprisoned in the dungeons of Travincal many centuries ago. You must find Mephisto before they do, and kill him.

You will have to go through 3 levels of dungeons to get to the Lord of Hatred. Dungeons of Hate - dark, large and long corridors in which you have to run for a long time. On the normal difficulty level, even less so, but on the hard difficulty levels, this is a difficult and painful task. There you will meet familiar vampires with meteorites that steal health, there will also be small flayers, harpies, thugs with clubs, as well as many dead people. At the second level, you should find the city portal, because the races on Mephisto - a frequent occurrence, because good gear drops from it: set and unique items.

After reaching the 3rd level of the Hate Dungeon, you will meet the 3 remaining advisors:

  • Bremm spark fist - owns lightning, and has an aura of reducing protection and resistances. He will be in the center of the room.
  • Wyand the Voidbringer - has the skill of teleportation and knows how to burn mana.
  • Muffer Dragon Hand He is very strong and very fast

Having done away with advisors once and for all, you can move on. In the middle of the room is a portal to the Underworld, which stands on bones and skulls on a bloody river. In front of the portal there is a large platform where Mephisto. The river of blood can be bypassed on the left or right. Lots of chests everywhere.

Before fighting with Mephisto, kill all other monsters, because they can greatly interfere with you. Left alone, fight the Lord of Hatred.

Mephisto is considered the weakest of the brothers, but depending on your character, or on the alignment in general, it happens that this is not at all the case. Mephisto attacks with powerful poison and lightning spells. Can deal significant damage in close combat. But unlike a fight with a giant larva from II act, there is a place where to run.

The demon will attack you with spells such as lightning, poison star, charged bolt, ice nova, snowstorm, and bone homing spirit. In principle, all this is not scary, having high resistances to the above elemental spells. Lord of Hatred is equally vulnerable to all types of spells, while having 33%, 50%, and 75% resistance to everything on normal, nightmare and hell.

After you are done with Mephistoan earthquake will begin. Good gear will drop out of the demon, among which you will most likely find green or gold items, as well as Mephisto's Soul Stone, which will be needed in the IV act. In other words, if you do not pick it up, then Kain will give it to you at the beginning of the act. After killing Mephisto, you have completed the quest, and now you need to move on.

Approach the bloody river, and a bridge of bones and skulls will rise in front of you, along which you need to enter the red portal of the underworld.
