We are returning to EAZ this year, but things are a little different.

What is the Solstice of Heroes event in Destiny 2?

Solstice of Heroes Destiny 2', now known simply as Solstice, is a celebration of the Guardians and their accomplishments over the past year.

The event is held in The Last City and started after the first year of Destiny 2, celebrating the return of the Traveler after we defeated Ghaul in the Red War campaign. This year also has a lot to be thankful for after we defeated Savatún in the expansion "witch queen».

The event usually revolves around European dead zone, an area only accessible during the solstice, where players try to kill as many bosses as possible in order to earn keys to earn loot. This year, however, things are a little different.

Date and time of the start of Solstice 2022

In the blog This Week At Bungie The developers have announced that the Solstice will be part of the 17th season and will begin on July 19th.

Expect it to start along with the weekly reset on that day.

The event usually lasts about a month if previous years have something to play through, likely coinciding with the end of The Vision season and the start of Season 18.

Event card

The Event Map is a new addition debuting with Solstice.

A new addition to Destiny 2, which will debut at Solstice 2022, is the event card. All indications are that it will be a Battle Pass-style add-on for events and will include event challenges to complete, event stamps and titles to earn, as well as additional cosmetic rewards.

Event card will cost players 1000 Silver but will offer rewards in excess of around 3000 Silver, so it's perfect for hardcore players, though some in the community claim it adds to Destiny's confusing monetization structure.

Armor changes and rewards

If you've ever had Solstice armor but never managed to fully upgrade it, then you might be pleased to know that Bungie is overhauling the system so you'll only upgrade one set of armor - no more switching between different armor states every time. when you level up.

"While you can get multiple instances of a helmet, for example, an armor upgrade will allow you to roll its stats, and the armor's stat potential will be split between those drops," the developer said.

Bonfire Bash Mode

We've been playing European Aerial Zone for a few years now, but Bungie is about to shake things up with a new Bonfire Bash mode.

According to the developers themselves:

“Another new feature coming to the Solstice is activity in the European aerial zone called the Bonfire Bash, where the Guardians will build and ignite what can only be described as ‘paracausal fires’ while enemies of the summer fun (including the Taken , the Cabal, the Hive, and the Fallen) will try to crash the party and put out the fires."

It sounds like a horde wave mode, something that could sate Prison of Elders fans. We will add more information as it becomes available.

This is everything we know about the Destiny 2 Solstice for 2022. While we wait, check out some of our other Destiny 2 guides and content:
