Christine Salvatore, senior vice president of marketing for Cloud9, said GamesBeat in an interview that the Valorant women's and men's teams will play in the same league, train together and fight each other.
“We have two competitive teams,” Salvatore said in an interview. “And our goal is to create one competitive team with the best players.”
Ideally, it would be a mix of both men and women, which would be a first for the top tier Valorant program, and a mix that we've rarely seen in esports at all.
One can draw a parallel with seyeon « Geguri Kim is from the Shanghai Dragons in the Overwatch League, but one female bench in the roster is very different from the women's team or main club, which gives six different women. a chance to crack your starting lineup.
As mentioned earlier, all five members of C9White used to play together - in an unsponsored team. MICHAEL . As a result, they took 5-8 places at the Counter Logic Gaming Blitz Open Cup, and then occupied first place at the Women's FTW Summer Showdown in September.
The rosters will play their first matches under the blue C9 banner just one day after the official announcement, in Riot's qualifiers First Strike, which will begin on Monday, October 26th.
It's no secret that esports organizations are trying to attract more women and get more girls into the games. There is an ongoing effort in the industry to break down gender stereotypes. So it will be very interesting to see how it ends up working out for those new to C9White.
