Former EA VP Becomes New Epic Games President

Adam Sussman, formerly of Nike, EA and Take-Two, has joined Epic Games as the company's new president.
Thanks to Fortnite, Epic Games is currently one of the biggest players in the gaming industry as the new decade begins. In addition to the Battle Royale title, the company is also trying to break new ground in the PC game store with its own competitor, Steam. Epic Games Store .
Before Fortnite became a household name, Epic were known for creating the Unreal Engine as well as the Gears of War franchise which has since been taken over by Microsoft.
In 2020, getting on board the Epic Games is very profitable, and Sussman seems to be doing just fine. He took the position following previous Epic president Paul Meegan, who stepped down in June 2019. Meagan worked for the company from 2012 until his departure .
The company's new president had previous ties to the gaming industry, though his most recent position was with renowned shoe giant Nike. He announced his departure on his LinkedIn profile.
“After 5,5 great years at Nike, I have decided to move on to the next opportunity to be President of Epic Games.” wrote Sussman on LinkedIn . “Nike is an amazing brand, I have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing people and I am very proud of what we have achieved together. While it's bittersweet, I'm thrilled to be joining Epic and honored to be part of the amazing team that built one of the biggest games in the world."
Before taking this position, Sussman worked for Zynga, EA, Take-Two, and The Walt Disney Company. His time at Zynga and EA revolved around mobile gaming, which makes his move to Epic all the more interesting.
Fortnite is available to play on mobile, and while this iteration hasn't been as long as it has been on other platforms, it still boasts a large player base. As Epic continues to develop the game around the world, its mobile version could be a big part of the game's expansion moving forward.
It's still too early to know what impact Sussman will have on Epic as a whole as he hasn't quite settled in yet, but it's a development well worth keeping an eye on, especially for those interested in the company's future.
