Diablo 2: Resurrected Bosses - How to Defeat Diablo, Baal and Mephisto

Diablo himself is not the only monster in Diablo 2 Resurrected. Some of his minions are just as formidable. Here's how to defeat each boss in his demonic army.

Diablo 2 resurrected combines the four original acts from Diablo 2 and the fifth and final act from its expansion Diablo 2: The Lord of Destruction. Each act culminates in an epic boss fight against a very large and powerful enemy.

None of these battles should be taken lightly. Each player's strategy will differ depending on their build and class, but there are a few universal tactics that can be used when it comes to killing Diablo and his lieutenants.

How to beat Andariel in Diablo 2 resurrected

Andariel is the final boss of Act I, and must be defeated to complete the Sisters to the Slaughter quest, upon completion of which a transition to Act II becomes available.

It is located in the last location of the first act - on the fourth level of the Catacombs. This level has a fixed, not a randomly generated look. If you do not rush after defeating the boss, but carefully examine it, then you can find the throne of Andariel.

Andariel is known as the Maiden of Torment and is one of the four Lesser Evils in the game's mythology. In the events of Diablo II, she goes over to Diablo's side, having become disillusioned with the prospects for a conspiracy of Lesser Evils, and helps him go east, at the same time preventing anyone who dares to follow him. The player needs to defeat her in order to follow Diablo east to Loot Golein.

On normal difficulty, he has a normal skin color, on Nightmare difficulty - dark blue, and on Hell difficulty - black.

There is a twin Uber Andariel - Lilith, which can be found in the Pandemonium Event.

Tactic

Andariel's attacks are poison-based, and your character's poison defense is paramount. On normal difficulty it is desirable to have 50+%, on Nightmare and Hell 75+%. It will be useful to have several items that reduce the duration of the poison by 25%. It will also be useful to use the Antidote Potion, since. it not only removes poison, but also grants +50% to poison resistance, +10% to maximum resistance to poison for 30 seconds.

Andariel has a fast movement speed and is quite difficult to kite. One way or another, it is possible, and most often it is done around the pool of blood, in the central room.

After death, a fiery geyser appears in its place and an earthquake occurs.

Andariel is vulnerable to fire.

How to beat Duriel in Diablo 2 resurrected

Duriel is a demon, one of the four lesser evils, in Diablo 2 it is encountered by the player as the act boss of the second act. Duriel looks like a huge larva with large and sharp front claws. He is vastly more powerful than anyone you've met before.

It is in the real tomb of Tal Rash. Using the Staff of the Horadrim will break a hole in the wall, and going inside you will find yourself in a very small room in which you have to fight with Duriel. Only after defeating him will you find out what happened in the tomb of Tal Rash, and where you need to go next. Only after killing him can you go to the third act.

In patch 1.09, Duriel was nerfed by popular demand, but despite this, he remains one of the most difficult bosses in Diablo 2.

Tactic

Duriel is a very strong and fast opponent, and his aura of freezing, slowing everyone around, further complicates the fight. His melee attacks have varying strengths (see below), the strongest being the one he charges with. Therefore, it is safest, especially for melee characters, to fight him closely with his back to the wall. If there is no obstacle behind your back, Duriel will push you away with one of his attacks, and then immediately make a strong blow from the dash.

For ranged characters, it is very important to level up a mercenary from the second act, and give him armor for health (you can find a helmet and armor with sockets to insert rubies into it). The ease of defeating the boss will directly depend on how strong your mercenary will be.

While in the boss room, it is desirable to always have an open portal to the city, and run there when your health is low. In cases where a mercenary plays the role of a tank, you have to run to the city 5-20 times, resurrecting it.

If you are new to Diablo 2, we recommend that you first "clear" all 8 tombs at the end of the second act at least 3-4 times. This will allow you to get a couple more extra levels and maybe find better equipment.

Also, before the fight, it is advisable to accumulate 15-30 purple potions of instant health restoration - the fight with them will be much easier. I start collecting purple elixirs from the very beginning of the passage of the second act.

Keep in mind that the merchant in the upper part of the city, you can play - buy random items. The range of these items depends only on your level, and having level 28-30 you can buy items from the third and even the fourth act.

If having level 28-30 at the time of the fight with Duriel (on normal difficulty), you cannot cope with it - most likely you have not leveled the character correctly. Read the guides and try to level differently.

On Nightmare and Hell difficulties, the difficulty of killing Duriel directly depends on the effectiveness of your build.

In conclusion, all experienced players are able to kill Duriel in a single game with the /players 8 command, when the strength and vitality of the monsters corresponds to 8 players in the group. I recommend trying to kill him in this mode to test your strength and the strength of your character.

Features

All characteristics of Duriel have strictly defined values, and depend only on the complexity and the number of players (or the value of the /players # command).

Duriel has the following types of attacks:

  • Duriel's Jab - Inflicts several quick hits in a row;
  • Duriel's Smite - a blow that stuns and pushes the target away;
  • Duriel's Charge Attack is the boss's strongest attack, but can only be used from a distance.

Duriel also has an aura that slows all nearby enemies and deals minor cold damage to them. Analogue of the paladin's aura Holy Freeze.

How to defeat Mephisto Diablo 2 resurrected

Mephisto is the final boss of the third act, as well as one of the three higher evils. The player needs to kill him in order to be able to open the portal to the fourth act. When meeting, Mephisto says the phrase "My brothers have escaped you. You're too late, ha ha ha ha ha ha However, if the brothers knew that we were going to them, it remains a mystery why they decided to leave Mephisto to fight alone, while the three of them would have a much better chance of winning.

After the transition to the fourth act, a video is played that tells the details of what happened in the monastery of Mephisto before we came to him.

Tactic

Mephisto uses lightning spells, cold spells, melee attacks, and can also create a cloud of poison around him. Try to have lightning/cold/poison resistances as high as possible.

If you are not confident in your abilities, then before starting a fight with him, clear the entire location - thus you will leave yourself room for maneuver. You can also use the pillars and walls in the location as an opportunity to temporarily go to a safe place and restore health.

If you need to make several visits to Mephisto, be sure to find a waypoint on the second level of Durance of Hate - this will significantly reduce the time of "wounds" to the boss.

How to beat Diablo Diablo 2 resurrected

Diablo (Diablo) - the final boss of the fourth act, a demon, one of the three higher evils. Connected with the quest Terror's End. The main antagonist of the entire Diablo series, in fact, the game is named after him. In Diablo II, after killing him, access to the next difficulty opens, in Diablo II: Lord of Destruction, access to the fifth act opens.

Tactic

In order for Diablo to appear, you need to activate 5 seals in the Chaos Sanctuary location and kill three groups of monsters. After this, an earthquake will begin and Diablo will appear on the central pentagram.

Diablo uses fire, lightning, cold, and close attack spells. He can also use bone prison on a hero or a portal. Before the fight with him, make sure that you have the maximum resistance to fire / lightning / cold. It will not be superfluous to open a portal near the pentagram in the center, so that in case of death you can quickly return to the boss.

The most dangerous spell is lightning. When Diablo uses it, try to run in circles around him to avoid getting hit by it.

How to defeat Baal in Diablo 2 resurrected

Baal is a demon, one of the three Primal Evils, on par with Diablo and Mephisto. He is the final boss of Act 5, as well as the final boss of the entire game with the addition of Lord of Destruction. After defeating him, access to the next difficulty opens.

Baal is the strongest boss of all five act bosses. He has a large number of deadly blows and spells in his arsenal, including the ability to call his brothers - "clones" of himself, who have the same assortment of abilities as the boss himself.

After defeating him, the archangel Tyrael will descend to us, who will say that Baal managed to defile the Stone of the World, and it must be destroyed. What we see in the final video.

Tactic

Having descended into the very depths of Worldstone Keep, the main character will find himself in the Throne of Destruction location, which always has a clear structure (it is not randomly generated). On the opposite side of the entrance, there will be a teleport to The Worldstone Chamber guarded by Baal.

In this place, you need to defeat the servants of Baal - five groups of monsters, each of which will be stronger than the previous one. Together they represent the five acts of Diablo 2. Groups will be summoned in turn as the previous group is completely killed. At the same time, the boss himself will complicate the fight, constantly imposing a slow curse on the character. The curse can be avoided by running away from Baal.

There is a little trick: you can not kill, but simply take the monsters out of the room (at a considerable distance), and return to Baal - in this case, he will behave the same way as if you had killed the monsters.

After all the servants are defeated, Baal will enter the portal - follow him. You will enter The Worldstone Chamber, where the main boss fight will take place.

The boss has the following abilities:

  • Festering Appendage - Summons tentacles near the character that attack him. In a small amount they are not dangerous, but the boss can summon several of them at once in a row;
  • Incineration Nova – releases fiery projectiles that scatter around in all directions;
  • Hoarfrost - Releases a V-shaped wave of cold that deals damage, knocks back and slows the character;
  • Mana Rift - a spell that is somewhat reminiscent of Inferno, only deals damage not to health, but to mana - quickly lowering it to zero values;
  • Defense Curse - a curse that reduces the character's defense by 60/75/95%. Imposes on those characters who have more health than mana;
  • blood mana - a curse that forces you to use health along with mana. Imposes on those characters who have more mana than health;
  • Teleport – can teleport to any point in The Worldstone Chamber;
  • Vile Effigy - Summons a 100% copy of himself. The copy has the same set of spells as the boss. But has a 50% reduced amount of health.

As well as two types of normal melee attacks.

At the same time, it is worth noting that the boss uses the two most unpleasant abilities: Festering Appendage and Vile Effigy mainly when he cannot attack the character directly. Keep this in mind, and if, for example, his copies or tentacles from the ground interfere with you, just be close to the boss.

Before the fight, make sure that the fire and cold resistances are 75% or higher. Also keep in mind that for killing the fifth group of servants they give a lot of experience, and if the fight with the boss is hard for you, just swing on his servants.
