Blue Protocol will be Free-To-Play, but… Game monetization details
The producers of Blue Protocol (Bandai Namco Entertainment) shared some interesting facts about the game's business model.
So yes: Blue Protocol, as previously stated, will operate as a Free-To-Play product. All gameplay must be completely free, as well as all future updates / additions / new classes, maps, etc.
So what will the producers earn on? On the Season Pass (Battle Pass equivalent) and Item Shop (Ragnas Store) with a premium currency called Pink Orbs.
What about an optional monthly subscription? No.
Interestingly, however, many IS/Battle Pass items can also be obtained by "playing the game".
Unfortunately, we don't know the individual prices yet, and we don't know the contents of the merchandise store, so we can't judge if there will be any Pay-To-Win or Pay-To-Progress items (I hope not!).
We will return to the topic in January, when the Japanese will start with closed tests.
