Battlefield 5 Firestorm Battle Royale Coming in 2019
The battle royale mode for Battlefield V will become available next March, DICE announced.
This is the third chapter of his planned content. In order of arrival, it will look like this: chapter 1 (Overture), chapter 2 (Lightning Strike). Overture is preparing a Panzerstorm map focused on the game, driving a tank, a new military story called The Last Tiger, and new self-propelled gun customization features. This will happen approximately two weeks after the release. Then, between January and March, Lightning Strikes will add Combined Arms and Squad Conquest.
Firestorm will support up to 64 players divided into four teams. It gets its name from the ring of fire that will close throughout the match as players make their way to the weapon and fight for the team. The Criterion team is working on the mode, not the developers at DICE. We still don't know much about Firestorm in general, given that it wasn't part of the beta.
Battle royale modes are popping up in most games lately. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Battlefield's archrival in the military shooter genre, has launched with its own combat mode called Blackout.
Battlefield V will release on November 20, after a short delay since October.
