Apex Legends Cancels Season 7 Battle Pass Challenges
Respawn Entertainment has lowered the difficulty required to complete the Apex Legends Season 7 Battle Pass after receiving waves of backlash from players in the "hard" star system.
To be clear, Apex Legends will keep the S7 system introduced with the new Battle Pass, which rewards players with stars. But they're bringing both the Daily and Weekly Challenges back to a difficulty level more similar to those they had in Season 6.
“Starting November 10th, we are returning the difficulty of the Daily Challenges to S6 levels while keeping the number of stars earned at the same level,” said Apex Legends Director Chad Grenier.
Respawn is addressing the community's problem with the Daily Challenges immediately, but Genier expects another patch to be released soon after that will bring changes to the Weekly Challenges.
The developer has released the exact numbers of the changes Apex players can expect to see that will drastically lower the daily and weekly publishing targets.
Nothing has changed regarding the number of stars awarded for completing individual challenges, but the update will lower the threshold for completing them. Fixes to weekly challenges will not only address the difficulty bar for completing them, but will also give players the ability to complete them with more than one legend.
This directly affects players' concerns about random teammates who simply select a character to complete a mission with them rather than interact with a squad.
In last week's Reddit AMA, I said we had more changes to the S7 Battle Pass planned.

Starting today, we're reverting the difficulty of the daily challenges to S6 levels while keeping the number of stars rewarded the same.

As an added bonus, all players will receive 10 free Battle Pass tiers in next week's patch. Among the feedback received by Respawn on the Season 7 Battle Pass was the community's idea that the complexity of the star system was created solely to to keep the players working and even convince them to buy levels.
Free Battle Pass tiers can greatly alleviate such concerns, especially now that players can constantly complete more challenges from your list.
Respawn is actively monitoring player feedback in light of the latest changes to the Apex Legends Season 7 Battle Pass to see if there is anything else that can be improved before it ends in January 2021.
