Respawn Entertainment has finally announced Season 4 of Apex Legends, which will be called Assimilation and will feature a brand new Forge Legend, a Sentinel sniper rifle, a brand new Battle Pass and more.

The highly anticipated fourth season of Apex Legends has finally received its official reveal on January 23rd as Respawn has released many details about all the new content that will be revealed.

As with the first three seasons, Assimilation will introduce a new Legend, weapons, Battle Pass, Ranked Series and more, all of which can be found below.

When is Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation coming out?

Respawn has confirmed that Season 4 will begin on Tuesday, February 4, 2020, which is the anniversary of the game's release.

This will be accompanied by a massive update that will add all the new content and will implement any changes that the developers have planned, such as changes to the map, improvements to the quality of the game, as well as fixes for bugs, crashes and other issues.

What's new in Apex Legends Season 4: Assimilation

New Legend: Forge

While everyone knew Season 4 would introduce a new Legend, there was a lot of uncertainty as to who it would be as leaks and speculation suggested it could either be Forgeor Revenant.

Respawn ultimately decided to go with Forge, a muscular humanoid who appears to have received several cybernetic enhancements to his body. The developers officially describe him as "Forge is modest, but always confident in his abilities and the mining "hands-sledgehammers" with which he crushes rivals into rubble."

His abilities haven't been revealed yet, but they will most likely have something to do with the "Male Hands" that Respawn mentioned in the description. Insiders found six abilities associated with the Forge , so the developers will probably choose three from the list.

New Weapon: Guardian

As with the first three seasons, Season 4 will add a new weapon to the fight with the Sentinel, a bolt-action sniper rifle that will “penetrate the enemy’s armor before they see you.”

This will be the sixth sniper rifle in Apex Legends, joining the Longbow DMR, G7 Scout, Triple Take, Charge Rifle, and Kraber .50-cal.

There was a lot of speculation based on leaks that the new weapon would be the Volt SMG, but the developers ultimately decided to go with a different sniper.

New Battle Pass and Anniversary Gifts

Season 4: Assimilation will have its own Battle Pass at launch, "Over 100 Exclusive Items including Legendary Skins and Liveries, Apex Packs, Loading Screens, Music Packs and more!"

In addition, since the new season will be released on the anniversary of the game, anyone who logs in from February 4th to February 11th will receive a special set of gifts:

    • ➤Mascot "Paper flyer" (they thought to make calico, but it would hardly fly)
    • ➤First Anniversary Loyalty Emblem
    • ➤10 units experience for the first match of the day (available every day)

    You'll get one of three emblem variations depending on when you made your first landing, so you can show off to your late friends.

Rating system 3

Season 4 will also kick off the third series of Ranked Play in Apex Legends, which will introduce a new type of schedule. The competitive season will be divided into two splits, each lasting approximately six weeks before being reset.

Those who played the game prior to Season 3 will be happy to know that the original Kings Canyon map will be returned for the second Split (March 24 - May 5), while World's End will still be used for the first Split (3 - February February). March 23).

Partial Reset

In Season 4, partial reset will follow the same principle. At the beginning of Series 3, the ranks of all players will be partially reset - by 1,5 categories. For example, if you finished season 3 in Gold II, then you will drop down to Silver IV. Platinum IV players will go to Silver II, while Apex Predators will be reset to Platinum II. This reset will now occur at the end of each stage.

Category "Master"

More players at the top of the rankings are reaching the title of Apex Predator. This makes it increasingly difficult to feel the difference in skill between the two players in the Apex Predator category. Therefore, another category will be added between Diamond and Apex Predator - Master. To get into it, you will need the same 10 RP that was previously needed for the Apex Predator. Apex Predators will now be the top 000 players on each platform. It is possible that you will drop from the Apex Predator category to the Master as other players outpace you in RP. We expect this will make it even more prestigious to maintain the Apex Predator title, while keeping all categories above Diamond still highly respected.

Restrictions for preassembled commands

The developers want players to have an incentive to play Apex Legends with friends, but the situation with the rating boost at the highest levels of the game requires close attention. In this regard, in the Platinum and above categories, teams can now be assembled only from players that are no more than one category apart from each other. Matches in the higher categories should now become more fair.

Penalties and Forgiveness

There will be a number of changes to the penalty forgiveness system to prevent the system from being used intentionally. Penalty forgiveness in cases where an ally leaves a match or does not join works as intended and will therefore remain unchanged. Forgiveness of the RP penalty when you exit a match will be limited to once per day. If you exceed this limit more than three times in a Ranked Series, you will no longer be able to use penalty forgiveness for the remainder of that Ranked Series. After that, the player will no longer be forgiven RP penalties when leaving the match, regardless of the reason. The game will continue to display warnings that leaving a match will have consequences, and will now also warn you when you run out of matches where forgiveness is in effect. Penalties increase according to the same principle as in the previous series.

Awards

As with the previous Ranked Series, players will be rewarded with Emblems, Weapon Talismans, and Flight Traces based on the highest Rank they achieved in the Series. But there is one important change: from now on, the flight trails you receive will only be valid for the next season, after which they will disappear (unless you reach the same rank again in the next season). This will allow the participants of the match to immediately notice the players who reached the corresponding rank last season. An exception will be made for those who received a flight trail in series 1 or 2. These trails will remain with the players forever.

What will remain the same in series 3

Cost of participation in the match (RO)

Each ranked match will require the same amount of RP depending on the category. Master matches will cost the same as Apex Predator matches.

  • Matches in the Bronze category are free.
  • matches for "Silver" will cost 12 RP;
  • matches for "Gold" - 24 RO;
  • matches for Platinum - 36 RO;
  • matches for Almaz - 48 RO;
  • Master matches cost 60 RP.
  • and Apex Predator matches - 60 RP.

Score

There will be no significant changes to the scoring system. For the Master and Apex Predator categories, the cost and rewards in RP will be the same.

However, assistance will now work differently. First of all, the amount of time to assist has been increased from 5 sec. up to 7,5 sec. In addition, prior to Season 4, when a player finished using a healing item (syringes, shield cells, etc.), all current assists were removed. This mechanic was unintentional and will no longer work. Mirage's Decoy, Crypto's EMP, and Pathfinder's Hook procs will now trigger assists for the standard 7,5 seconds, even if those actions didn't deal damage. Bloodhound's scan and Crypto's passive will count as assists if the player is killed while they are affected and within 7,5 seconds. after this effect expires. The points awarded for kills and place in the match will remain unchanged.

There is still time before the release of Apex Legends Season 4, so players should expect more information, announcements, and in-game teasers to be released from now through February 4th.
