Every year, Escape from Tarkov receives two wipes. The developers, Battlestate Games, usually release a ginormous patch along with the wipe that brings in various bug fixes, new features, weapons, map reworks, cosmetics, and more. With December already halfway through, players are eagerly anticipating the wipe for a fresh start. The recent TarkovTV live broadcast confirmed that patch 0.16 will arrive as part of the “Winter Update” in December 2024.

The devs released a roadmap on X, which showcased their plans until the end of the year, 2024. In that post, patch 0.16 was included, meaning it will be released before the forthcoming year, 2025.
Taking every bit of information into consideration, the upcoming wipe will likely hit the game in the last week of December 2024, potentially on December 29, 30, or 31. However, readers are advised to take the speculated release window with a grain of salt since BSG has not officially confirmed the date. Additionally, if any issues arise, the patch could be delayed until January.
