Wrath - Quake Engine Shooter Launches With Good Debut On Steam

Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, FPS from an independent studio KillPixel Games, launched in the Steam Early Access program and receiving excellent reviews. The title was designed in an old school style and uses the first version of the id Tech engine that was used to power the original Quake.
Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, an old-school shooter based on the engine known from the iconic Quake and developed by independent team KillPixel Games, recently debuted on Steam Early Access. The game can be purchased for $25 (although you can buy it for 5% off until December 3rd). The developers have also released another trailer, which you can find below.
The game presents itself as one would expect from a title running on a 23 year old engine, but everything seems to indicate that it is also a very playable and well thought out production. There have been a lot of reviews on Steam for Wrath: Aeon of Ruins and the vast majority of them are positive. Players praise the weapons and location design, as well as the gorgeous, dark atmosphere.

I'm not surprised at how good this game is, but I'm surprised at how much better than ever the atmospheric Twilight, the stellar focus of evil, and the blindingly action-packed Ionic Fury.

In Wrath: Aeon of Ruins, we play the role of a so-called outlander who is given the task of killing the last guardians of a dying world. The mysterious plot plan is really just a pretext for an unrestricted madness using several different weapons (each with an alternate shooting mode). The game was created by developers who have been active in the original Quake modding scene for many years.
The version being sold in Early Access currently offers two extensive levels that provide a fair amount of free exploration. The full game is expected to release next year after three major content updates (the game will also be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch).
