Walkthrough Unleash Hel God of War: Ragnarok

Find Odin in his hall

After the cutscene with Kratos, the action will move to Asgard, where Trad informs Atreus that Odin wants to see him in his office. So before you leave your room, be sure to buy any items or upgrades. Then, when you're ready, leave the room.

On the way to Odin's hall, you will have the opportunity to look around Thor and Sif's room, as well as eavesdrop on a conversation between Sif and Trud outside her door. However, when you get to Odin's office, you will find that it is empty.

Check Library

Go through the door at the back of the room and go down the stairs where you will find Odin working at his desk.

As you approach Odin, you will see a cut-scene in which he explains his reasons for killing Ymir and building his home in Asgard. After instructing Atreus and Trud to search for the missing fragment of the Mask in Helheim, Heimdall will join them, as he has his own mission in the region.

Find the last mask fragment

It's time to find the last Mask Fragment, which is hidden somewhere in Helheim. To start, put on the mask by pressing Left on the D-pad, continue up the stairs and then the walkway - collecting all the silver you find along the way.

Upon reaching the passage, you will encounter a small group of hel walkers. Destroy them with Trud and Ingrid.

Take the resource bag from the fallen soldier and continue along the column. From here, follow Trud until you encounter another group of Hel Rogues and Frozen Nightmares that you will need to take out.

After clearing the area, keep moving forward and turn the handle on the left side of the door to open it. After opening, continue to follow Trud forward. Before you turn the corner and go down the stairs, don't forget to take the bag of silver.

Having reached the docks of Vadgelmir, go along the pier. Just before you get to the big structure at the end, you'll find a pouch of silver next to a fallen soldier.

Once you reach the large structure, put on your mask and go to the steel door, where you will find out that the door is locked. Then head back to the dock where you need to defeat a wave of hel walkers that will break through the crates lining the wall above.

Once you've won, ask Trud to help you push the big crate towards the hole in the wall to make your way further.

After reaching the ledge at the top, go left, you will find a legendary chest. This chest contains the Falling Sky ability, which bombards the area in front of Atreus with sonic bolts. This ability comes in handy if you want to use Sonic Arrows but don't want to switch from Sigils.

Walk along the platform until you reach a large structure. Upon entering, shoot the sonicstone barrels along the left wall to find a pouch of chopped silver, then shoot the sonicstone grates on either side of the door.

On the right side you will find a latch holding the cargo - shoot it to drop the cargo on the ground. Once the weight hits the ground, go back to the original gate you were trying to open earlier and climb onto the weight that just dropped.

As you approach the gate at the back of the room, you will be ambushed by Hel Walkers and Hel Revenant. Upon victory, you will be rewarded with Idalir Wood and Silver.

Before you leave the room, destroy the two sonic stone barrels that can be found on top of the crates in the room to pick up some bags of silver. Then destroy the barrel blocking the grate in the far right corner of the room. Once the grate is destroyed, you will have a path through the previously locked door.

After jumping through the grate, search the nearby red coffin to get some Idalir Wood, Stonewood, and Hacked Silver. Then keep moving forward, taking out the enemies you meet along the way. Behind the stack of crates where you encountered the Nightmares, you will find a chest with silver.

Before heading up the stairs to the upper level, be sure to grab the Resource Pouch that can be found behind the nearby crates. Then, at the top of the stairs, have Trud open the door. Unable to fully open it, shoot the latch on the other side - this will drop another weight through the floor.

Go back until you reach the cargo. Climbing up to the floor above, you will encounter a group of hel walkers, this time including two heavy ones. Again, you need to watch out for their powerful, unblockable melee attacks, as their stagger can take you by surprise.

After winning, take the rewards and turn the crank to open the door.

After learning that the way forward is blocked, look for a sonic stone grate on the ground, which is hidden behind a large stack of crates. Destroy it and jump down to the floor below.

From here, walk along the dock and use the mask, which will lead you to a large box. After failing to push the crate forward, go back to the crate you just jumped off of and look through the gap; here you will find a latch preventing Trud from moving the box further - shoot it.

Returning to Trud, shoot the bars on the roof and continue up to the top floor.

Exit through the nearest door and head to the left, passing through a large arched doorway where you'll find a red coffin containing Idalir wood, honed metal, and some silver.

After robbing the coffin, ask Trud to open the door on the opposite side of the room. Without being able to fully open the door, shoot the latch that will appear between the gap to the right of the door. Keep moving forward, taking out the Hel Walkers and Hel Broods that will try to stop you.

After reaching the room at the end of the path, collect the chest of silver on your left and put on the mask, revealing that the path ahead is blocked again. To open the gate, Trud moves a nearby crate, allowing Atreus to reach a ledge above where she hopes he will find a way to reduce the weight preventing them from moving forward.

Once you're ready, grab onto the ledge and before jumping off the other side, grab the pouch of silver you'll find on the small path to your left.

After going down, follow the path to the left, where you will find a legendary chest. This chest contains a Runic Summon Wrath of the Wolf.

A staple of many playstyles in the first part of 2018, this ability summons three wolves that deal high damage as they tear through enemies and across the battlefield.

Look up the tower where you will notice a load hanging from a latch - destroy the latch to make your way through the locked gate. However, before you can return to Trud, you will be ambushed by Level 3 and 4 Hel Revenants. You will need to take out those Hel Walkers with Ingrid's help before you can continue. Be careful of the ice wave they send at you, as this attack has a surprisingly large radius.

A word of advice: if you stay close to the legendary chest, the Revenants will get stuck behind the chests, making the fight much easier since you won't have to defend against their attacks as often.

Once the enemies are defeated, continue up the chain and then go straight through the doorway that was previously blocked. Before heading to the left, search the chest along the wall to your right.

Now climb onto the crates that lead to the left and jump across the gap. Continue down the path where you will find a giant Hel Hound chained up.

Believing that the creature wants to be freed, head towards the left chain and help Trud free him - you will need to press "Circle" in time in the mini-game. Then repeat this step for the next two chains.

When you try to unlock the third circuit, the Helhound will break free and flee to Helheim. Once the wolf escapes, go to the room he was guarding, where you will find a dead end.

Find your way back to Asgard

Having made a mistake with the location of the mask fragment, it's time to return to Asgard. Follow Trud where you will eventually start a lengthy cutscene in which Heimdall taunts the couple for their incompetence.

Find Odin and explain what happened

After returning the couple to Asgard, follow Heimdall to Odin's office, where he will share the bad news regarding the mission.

Return to Atreus' quarters

When you are asked to leave the hall, return to your chambers - before you do this, be sure to eavesdrop on Thor and Sif in their room.

After a short conversation with Ingrid in Atreus' quarters, you will soon hear a knock on the door - answer it to enter a cutscene with Odin.

Return to Sindri's house

After allowing Atreus to leave Asgard, you will soon return to Midgard. From here, exit the house and head towards the Mystic Gate - before you do that, you need to defeat three Hel Rogues.

Repel the attack of the hel-walkers

Upon reaching Sindri's home, you'll find that the Hel Walkers have broken into the realm - you need to help Freya, Sindri, and Brok defeat them.

As the battle progresses, Freya will need your help. Head over to her and interact with the realm tear where she will show you how to cast the spell needed to close the tear. When prompted, quickly press the circle.

As soon as you get close to closing the space gap, you will be attacked by a Hel walker; however, before he can bite Atreus, Kratos will save him.

Now, as Kratos, you will unlock the Spartan Wrath, which will launch an Rage Surge that deals massive damage to only one enemy when Spartan Wrath is activated. With this new fury unlocked, fight your way through the Hel Walkers, trying to distract them from Freya and Atreus trying to close the gap in the realm.

After a few moments of fighting, Freya and Atreus will close the rift, but not before causing a large explosion that sends Kratos flying. The chapter will then conclude with a cutscene in which Atreus is reunited with Kratos, revealing that the realm's tears are indeed his doing when he freed Garm from his chains in Helheim.
