All classes in Fire Emblem Engage - Basic, Advanced, how to advance and more

One of the best parts Fire Emblem Engage will be a class system. Fans of the classic strategy series will see familiar classes, but this time there are new ones in the game. A list of all the base and advanced classes that players can look forward to has been compiled.

No matter how you play Fire Emblem Engage, all RPG character classes will be useful for specific situations or strategies. The player must figure out how he wants to use them best. Also, not every player likes every class. Some gamers don't care about archers or ax wielders, but prefer lords and great knights.

Some of the classes listed below also have confirmed characters associated with them, and listings will mark them when information is available.

What are the normal and advanced classes in Fire Emblem Engage?

Instead of generic class names for basic options, they seem to be a bit more generic in Fire Emblem Engage. Luckily, this is a good thing, as it makes it incredibly clear what each class should be doing in terms of combat.

Hero class - Dragon Child, owned by Alir. They specialize in sword fighting, like most Fire Emblem heroes in the past. In addition, they can also use swords, which are unique to them in Fire Emblem Engage. This could mean that they wield the Falchion, but this is currently unconfirmed.

Martial Monk is also an interesting character class for Fire Emblem Engage. In some early games in the franchise, healers were considered weak and easily targeted by enemies. While this class can use fist attacks, they are also capable of using healing arts. This should make them durable and safe to use in close combat, as well as available to heal your friends.

No matter how you want to play, there are several base classes for you. If you love swords but prefer to be on a mounted unit, you can be a sword cavalier. Alternatively, you can choose to fly and follow the path of the Sword Flier on your Pegasus. It should be noted that Fire Emblem Engage retains the franchise's traditional weaknesses. Airmen are weak to arrows and heavily armored units are weak to magic.

Base classes

  • Archer (Etie)
  • Ax Armor (Jade)
  • Cavalry Axis
  • Ax Fighter (Anna Boucheron)
  • Ax Flyer
  • Dragon Child (Alear M, Alear F)
  • Armor Lance (Louis)
  • Lance Cavalier
  • Lance Fighter
  • Lancer Flyer
  • Mage (Citrinne, Clanne)
  • Battle Monk
  • Noble (Alfred, Celine)
  • sword armor
  • sword cavalier
  • sword fighter
  • sword flyer

In addition, there are several advanced classes to unlock in Fire Emblem Engage. The rich tradition of upgrading your units into a stronger, more powerful class continues with Nintendo's upcoming RPG. It may also be recommended to take characters through a few other base classes first to unlock stats or abilities, but this has yet to be confirmed.

Fire Emblem Engage also has some really interesting advanced classes. Mage Knight looks like it's going to be pretty popular considering you can be a riding mage who can also wield an ax to lay waste to your enemies. The Battle Monk can also become Martial Arts Master, which should be an even stronger force in close combat.

As always, class Hero also returns, wielding both a sword and a spear. Heroes are one of the strongest classes in the series and that is unlikely to change here. Finally, there is wolf knightwho wields a dagger and rides a mighty wolf. This is an interesting change to the classic Fire Emblem Engage horse units.

Advanced classes

  • Future
  • Berserk (Panette)
  • bow knight
  • Common
  • Grand Knight (Bunet)
  • Griffin Knight (Chloe)
  • Halberdier
  • Hero (Goldmary)
  • High Priest (Pandreo)
  • Mage Knight
  • Martial arts master
  • Paladin (Amber, Wander)
  • royal knight
  • Sage
  • Sniper
  • Sword Master (Kagetsu)
  • Vidame
  • Martial Artist
  • Wolf Knight (Merrin)
  • Wyvern Knight (Rosado)

While playing Fire Emblem Engage, you can purchase Master Seals to upgrade your character classes. It should be noted that you cannot advance units until they reach level 10. However, you may not always want to advance with one particular option. It will be interesting to see if characters can swap between multiple base classes to unlock passive abilities and higher stats before they are promoted.

At the same time, you may not want to move to the advanced class. It's important to know what a class can provide to you before you decide to leave it behind. You can switch base classes with a second seal, but you can only change jobs according to your skill level. Basically, sword users cannot switch to an ax class unless their class also allows them to wield axes in the first place.

Fire Emblem Engage officially releases on January 20, 2023 for Nintendo Switch and brings back several classic characters from the franchise's history to be used in the battle against the forces of evil.
