CoD Mobile Leaks Reveal Zombies, New Map, Prestige System, More…
Call of Duty: Mobile's latest update in China introduced a ton of fresh content, including new maps, a prestige system, and even a new zombie mode. Here's everything you need to know.
The Chinese version of CoD Mobile is always ahead of everything by a few months. New features are often rolled out to the Chinese market first, with some additions even remaining exclusive to that region.
Chinese updates - from unique modes inspired by the "among Us" series to early card releases are often a good indicator of what we can expect in the future. With the release of the new patch on March 24th, it's safe to say that CoD Mobile is going to evolve in a big way over the next few months.
From new modes to new maps and everything in between, here's a rundown of all the new content, some of which we'll be seeing in the Western version soon.

First, the Chinese update focused on new zombie content. When downloading the new version of the game, players quickly noticed the new Zombies mode available on the main screen.
For other players, the main menu was completely different. Instead of standing in front of the multiplayer map, the characters also spawned in front of the classic Zombie location.
Shi No Numa, the popular card that first appeared in World at War, looks like it's making a comeback. After a brief appearance in the 2019 Raid Mode, CoD Mobile players may soon return to the Japanese Zombies map.
It's unknown what modes it might be available in in the future, but it's clear that zombies will have a major impact soon.

Also included in the latest update is a completely new multiplayer map. The Monastery is a new design exclusive to CoD Mobile.
Sunshine Place combines internal and external combat in a medium sized map. The map isn't as small as Nuketown or Firing Range, but it's also nowhere near the largest we've seen.
It's not yet known which game modes this map will be available for, though standard team sizes are a win-win.
Expect most casual playlists, from Team Deathmatch to Domination, to fit right into the new battlefield.

Is the prestige system coming to CoD Mobile?
In addition to the new locations, another addition has quietly been added to the Chinese update. There is a new option in the menu when viewing the Type25 Assault Rifle.
A progress bar can be seen under the new unique weapon, seemingly representing the prestige of the first weapon. Unique rewards can also be seen at the bottom, hinting at multiple unlock tiers tied to each weapon in the game.
This update does not seem to focus on account-based prestige, but specifically weapon prestige. You may soon be able to rename weapons, unlock exclusive cosmetics, and make the most of new stats.

While this new content is valid across the entire Chinese version, there is no guarantee that it will reach the global version. Certain maps and modes usually go through, although it is possible that some features will be cut before the global update.
As always, we'll keep you updated as more news for CoD Mobile becomes available.
