NOTE . Unlike many previous Call of Duty games, there are no collectibles or intel in the Vanguard campaign. Just enjoy the game and "kill as many Nazis as you can".
Numa Numa Trail
After the intro cutscene, Mateo will take your weapon and hide you. Once you regain control, you will have a target.
Escape from the crash site
ACHIEVEMENT : Move stealthily using only melee attacks to get the achievement "survivalist».
Crouch and walk back, then turn right and move through the trees.
Use Wade's Focus ability to see enemies through trees and get closer to them more stealthily.
(We'll see enemies targeted by Focus circled in red to give you an idea of what to look out for as they can be hard to see due to the amount of overgrowth).
Moving east, you will soon clear the crash site and begin your search for your partner.
Find Mateo
Raise the compass and head to the 120th degree and you will find hills in the jungle. Stay crouched, use Focus to avoid the enemies and keep going until you reach a muddy road.
Perform a stealth kill on an enemy, then disarm the tripwire trap in front of him and grab his Type 99 bayonet to aid you in melee attacks.
Return to the forest on the left and go around the side of the water-filled area on the left to bypass the other two enemies.
Once you reach the other side, head southwest up the hill to continue. You can also climb up the logs by leaning against a small ledge.
There are not many enemies nearby, so go through the bushes on the left side of the path and use the log to cross the ditch. Stay close to the tree line on the left as you continue forward and you'll find a bunker.
There are several groups of ammo lying on enemies nearby and a radio in the back room that you can use to call for help.
After using the radio, the enemy troops will surround the hut, so use the tunnel in the room next to the bottom entrance and crawl through it to escape.
Once you exit the tunnel, turn right and keep crouching and moving straight ahead, towards the northwest.
Go through the trees and you will see some bamboo manholes.
Get past them and go behind the hill on the left side of the path, past the sandbags, and you'll find some enemies patrolling.
Slip past them and continue north on the dirt road. Spray the grenade on the road, then cross the log across the river on the other side.
Once you're back on solid ground, you'll hear a groan and see three enemy soldiers running down the road to the right.
Follow them. Some will stop at the top of the next slope, so turn left and keep to the wooded area as you climb up the leafy hill towards the marker.
Keep your eyes on the ground so as not to step on the traps. Interact with them to discover hidden pits and avoid them.
You'll soon find the plane, so climb up the log to get to the cockpit, where Wade will find (and shoot) the rocket. Go around the right side of the plane to get to the vine and slide back down to ground level.
Once you reach the ground, there will be a group of enemy troops in front of you, so crouch and move behind the tree to your left to hide.
Walk prone (hold the crouch button) and go left. After walking a few yards, you can safely get up and start moving to the southwest.
Go down the slope, and soon you will find yourself in a muddy rut again and hear more moans.
Get to Mateo
Turn left and you will see a magazine. Jump over it and you'll slide down the slope and reunite with Mateo. A short cut-scene will start.
Follow 93
After the cutscene ends, you will be merged with the 93rd squad.
Follow them through the camp and take cover, then use Wade's Focus ability to quickly move between enemies and kill them quickly to continue.
Follow the left fork and use the trees for cover, then take out the enemies hiding behind the overturned cart.
As soon as they fall, walk past them to the river, where you will find an ammo box. Resupply, then turn right.
Keep moving until you reach a cliff, then jump down and take cover behind vehicles.
A sniper is sitting in the trees on the other side of the bridge.
Find and kill the sniper
ACHIEVEMENT : Move stealthily and avoid being hit by a sniper to get the achievement "Untouchable".
The sniper is in the tree on the other side, but you need to avoid the fire to do so.
Run across the bridge using the smoke grenade that Washington throws for cover, then crouch behind the boulder on the left once you get to the other side.
Go crouched and crawl to the large log ahead for the next cover.
Go around the left side and lie down, hiding behind the grass, moving to the southwest, towards the tree.
Watch out for the tripwire grenades and keep getting to the bamboo barriers and then crawl under them to continue.
Walk a few more yards through the bushes, then activate Focus and use it to locate the sniper.
At this distance, you can even kill them with automatic weapons.
Support 93rd
Regroup with your team (and pick up a special type 99 sniper below them if you like), then follow Washington down the road.
As you climb the next ridge, a firefight will start, in which the enemy troops will come out of the shelters they have dug in the hill.
Activate Focus to eliminate all nearby enemies hiding and then take cover. The boulder to the left of the road, on top of the hill, is a great spot for sniping with the special Type 99.
