MultiVersus Hero Tier List - Best Heroes (August 2023)

All MultiVersus characters

Multi Versus by Player First Games is in beta, but that doesn't mean the fighting game meta hasn't started to take shape. It will be more than useful for players to know which characters are at the top of the level list and are the best on the battlefield. So, below you will find the rating of MultiVersus fighters, ranked from the best to the weakest.

Before we delve into the meat grinder that makes up this list of MultiVersus levels, it's important to note that everything that follows is based on early gameplay experiences and opinions from a number of players who had more time with the game during the alpha period. It's also worth noting that this list is subject to change given the fact that the game itself is technically in open beta for the foreseeable future.

But this is for the future. Right now we are going to rank the entire MultiVersus list and let you know why we think there are some characters that are better than others. We apologize in advance if your favorite is lower than you would like.

WHO IS THE BEST CHARACTER IN MULTIVERSUS?

Right now I think the best character in MultiVersus is probably Finn, especially when it comes to 2v2 play. He's an easy character to learn but hits really hard and probably has the best horizontal play of any character. Its dominance decreases at higher levels of the game (often replaced by mages), but this guide is not really intended for players at that level.

Another strong contender is Batman, which is very balanced, from airborne mobility to quick recovery and landing strong combos both at melee and ranged. And the other biggest contenders for the throne are magicians, Bugs Bunny и Tom and Jerry, both of which are absolutely devastating with their barrage of ranged attacks at higher levels of the game.

We'll talk more about Finn and all of the other MultiVersus characters below, including why they're ranked the way they are on our tier list.

Morty

Multi Versus

Role: | Bouncer 1v1 Rank: B-level | 2v2 Rank: B-level

The first character to be added with the release of Season 1, Morty is classified as a Bruiser, but thanks to his laser gun and sophisticated long-range bomb attacks, he actually plays very much like a Mage. He's a decent all-rounder with enough firepower to stalk enemies from a distance, and his flying saucer makes him practically immune to spikes while he's off.

But that's where Morty's specialty lies - he has a huge amount of cooldowns that need to be taken into account for the Dodgeball. There's a lot to keep an eye on, and Morty's output and overall performance just doesn't quite justify how difficult it is for him to play well in his current state. He is still a dangerous character, especially while the player base is still learning about his moveset.

BETMAN

Batman at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: | Bouncer 1v1 Rank: S-Tier | Rank 2v2: S-Tier

Batman is an extremely solid character in every level of play in MultiVersus. He is fairly easy to learn, and his strong combos and high vertical mobility make him very difficult to fight in both 1v1 and team fights. With some practice, you can quickly insert a batarang into your combos to mix your melee moves with a versatile ranged attack that doesn't allow enemies to recover very easily. Overall, a fantastic character, and very popular - so even if you're not going to play him, you should take the time to learn his moves so you know what to expect when going up against the Dark Knight himself.

BUGS BUNNY

Bugs Bunny at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: Mage | 1v1 Rank: S-Tier | Rank 2v2: S-Tier

Speaking of randomness, a good Bugs Bunny player is an absolute horror to contend with. His attacks range from powerful hammer swings to thrown pies and falling safes and bloated kisses that stun an enemy ready for an overpowered attack. And that's not even taking into account his passive trick box, from which he can retrieve and throw new items at any time. Even in 1v1 he can keep you at bay so consistently with his barrage of projectiles and he is very dangerous in close combat as well as with a couple of incredibly long combos with which you can trap enemies at any moment. At the highest level of the game, he is a strong contender for the best.

FINN THE MAN

Finn at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: Killer | 1v1 Rank: S-Tier | Rank 2v2: S-Tier

Sword in hand, you can always count on Finn to step into the fray and dominate. As an assassin archetype character, he is very similar to Harley Quinn in that he can deal a lot of damage in the right situation. However, he is not the toughest and you need to be careful when rushing into battle with him. However, his passive can greatly boost his special attacks and make Finn a fantastic option for players.

HARLEY QUINN

Harley Quinn at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: Killer | 1v1 Rank: S-Tier | Rank 2v2: S-Tier

As the character of the Assassin archetype, Harley Quinn is built to deliver powerful blows and take enemies by surprise. With attacks that can be remotely detonated, a Confetti status effect that can set people on fire, and a giant hammer... Yes, Harley Quinn is made for fighting and is one of the best in MultiVersus today.

TOM AND JERRY

Tom and Jerry at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: Mage | 1v1 Rank: S-Tier | Rank 2v2: A-Tier

With Tom and Jerry, you get two for the price of one, really. Specializing in ranged moves, Tom and Jerry is a great character to pick if you're struggling to dodge attacks in the thick of combat. This could be considered a highly skilled character when you consider how much Jerry's positioning can help make the most of Tom's special attacks - however, this duo makes for a fantastic character that can deal a lot of damage in the right situations.

TAZ TASMANIAN DEVIL

Tas in MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: | Bouncer 1v1 Rank: A-Tier | Rank 2v2: A-Tier

Taz combos are annoying as hell. You might think that his power is to eat his enemies and turn them into a chicken (the latter is certainly useful for the healing effects bestowed on Taz and his teammates for attacking enemies with a chicken-q), but Taz's real power is are his fast attacks and his annoyingly spammy side tornado. It's a bit like a less intense Finnish whirlwind. The same goes for his dog pile, which can be used to great effect to throw teammates out of bounds, though this particular attack is on cooldown, which reduces its effectiveness somewhat.

ARIA STARK

Aria Stark at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: Killer | 1v1 Rank: A-Tier | 2v2 Rank: B-level

Arya looks a lot like Harley Quinn to me. They are both assassins, fast and able to deal a lot of damage in a short amount of time. But while Harley has additional traps and throwing attacks, Arya can backstab and steal her enemy's face to use their neutral attacks. It can be difficult to use Arya to the best of her ability, as her moveset isn't the easiest. But she excels in 1v1 scenarios, and her side knife special throw is an extremely good attack, giving her armor break, mobility, and powerful harassment all in one.

OLENEPES

Reindog at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: | 1v1 support Rank: C-Tier | 2v2 Rank: B-level

Oleneps' big frame and heavy focus on team play means he's always been doomed to suffer in 1v1. But his call to team prowess glory is his leash that can pull teammates to him to save them from death - in fact really isn't as useful as just having two powerful characters by your side. Raindog can deal a fair amount of damage in regular time if left alone, but both in melee and ranged, there are much better options in the lineup.

SUPERMAN

Superman at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: Tank | 1v1 Rank: B-Tier | 2v2 Rank: B-level

Whether he's the Man of Steel or not, Superman is a great character in MultiVersus - for obvious reasons - and should be someone you get to know in the game. With multiple armored attacks and a series of special attacks that take full advantage of the superhuman abilities he boasts, it's safe to say he can strike when needed. Superman to heaven! The passive ability also gives him much more mobility than some of his peers, which is more useful than you might think at first glance.

VELMA Dinkley

Velma at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: | 1v1 support Rank: B-Tier | Rank 2v2: A-Tier

As a support archetype character, she is fantastic at both buffing her allies and damaging her enemies. Her special attack fast thinker can be devastating if timed correctly, and she can even call in the cops to clear her enemies thanks to her Snooping passive ability.

NORVILL "SHAGGY" ROGERS

Shaggy at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: | 1v1 Bouncer Rank: A-Tier | Rank 2v2: A-Tier

Shaggy, like Jake, has no passive abilities. What you see is what you get with it and what you get is a versatile bruise with some pretty fast, strong attacks and combos that can be hard to stop once you get into the rhythm. His fury makes his next attack extremely powerful, giving him a handy toolkit for throwing enemies out of sight. He may not be very mobile, but his combinations both on the ground and in the air make him probably the best, most reliable A-Tier character in the game in my opinion.

DOG JAKE

dog Jake at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: | Bouncer 1v1 Rank: A-Tier | Rank 2v2: A-Tier

Jake is a very solid A-Tier character in my mind. He has a lot of power in the air thanks to his upward special move, and his horses sideways special attack is just annoying, especially on teams when you get distracted fighting jake's teammate. He's not Finn with his powerful attacks, but he can easily switch between fast combos and fairly heavy attacks. His only slight downside is that he's not the fastest, most responsive character, and if you're caught on the edge of the arena, it can be difficult to get back onto the track with a decent enemy guarding the platform from you.

STEVEN UNIVERSE

Steven Universe at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: | 1v1 support Rank: C-Tier | Rank 2v2: C-Tier

With the ability to conjure up bubbles and shields that he can use as extra platforms, Stevens is an interesting character in MultiVersus - and one you should definitely try out. He may not be one of the best in our opinion, but he is a fantastic support archetype that can provide extra armor for allies and deflect projectiles.

GARNET

Pomegranate in MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: | Bouncer 1v1 Rank: B-Tier | Rank 2v2: C-Tier

Like Steven, Garnet - a great character if you love Steven Universe. However, we found her to be one of the more sluggish archetypal Brute characters in MultiVersus. If you're looking for someone who can hit hard, you'll find it here, but you'll need to time your dodge well if you want to make the most of this fighter.

WONDER WOMAN

Wonder Woman at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: Tank | 1v1 Rank: B-Tier | 2v2 Rank: B-level

Okay, okay... Listen to us. Wonder Woman is fine, she's good even, but she's pretty basic. As you can imagine, she can do everything you think she could do in MultiVersus - and she uses the Arcana of Truth - but she doesn't do anything. too impressive. Her Warrior and Gods Protection special abilities are also not as useful as they could be. That's why Wonder Woman is on this level.

STEEL GIANT

Iron Giant at MultiVersus
Multi Versus

Role: Tank | 1v1 Rank: C-Tier | Rank 2v2: C-Tier

We don't want to shame Iron Giant, but he's too big in MultiVersus. He's easily at least three times the size of the other characters, and he loves it. He hits hard, but he's slow and, as his size would suggest, misses a lot. He boasts some tough attacks and is a fantastic character to take on more than one enemy at once. However, we regret that he is at the bottom - for now.

LEBRON JAMES

Multi Versus

Role: | Bouncer 1v1 Rank: A-Tier | Rank 2v2: A-Tier

LeBron is the most recent addition to the MultiVersus character roster, and the player base is still learning what he can do and how high his potential is. But it begins to seem that he can really be very strong. He is a difficult character to master, with a very high skill ceiling due to the extra layer of moves he can perform depending on whether he has a basketball or not. But the ball is also his biggest strength because he can pull off some really insane combos - the ones that just look unfair to the other player. He is not at the highest level simply because his attacks are not exactly fast. But in terms of stacking combos on more combos, not much better than LeBron.

Warner Bros. They don't hide the fact that they plan to add more characters over time, so rest assured that this list of levels is far from final. We expect to see more tweaks and nerfs before the game officially announces its full launch.
