Tfue Is Confident Fortnite Players On Console Can Dominate Across The Line
Turner "Tfue" Tenney is one of the most popular Fortnite pro players and streamers in the world, and after meeting players using controllers during a charity tournament Twitch rivals On Dec. 19, the 21-year-old gamer revealed how hard it is today to deal with players using a gamepad.
The war between controller players and keyboard and mouse users has been a hot topic between pros and Fortnite streamers for a long time. Many argue that the aim assist that those using a gamepad get is too powerful and gives them a significant advantage in firefights by dragging their crosshair to the opponent's head area.
After meeting enemies during Twitch Rivals Community Chair Showdown, using thumbs instead of a mouse, Tfue explained why it can be so difficult to play against those who use a controller, giving some insight into why it is very dangerous to counter such gamers.
Playing with his fans who won the opportunity to compete with him in showdowns, Tfue and his team came under fire from a teammate involving a controller player who killed one of his teammates with just four bullets to send him back to the lobby's loading screen. Discussing this later, viewers asked if the enemies that used gamepads were really that difficult to play, and a professional player explained how two different settings could give them unique advantages.
“I have been a victim of this many times!” - These are the words of the streamer, which he said with irony and a smile on his face. “It all depends on the case, there are two types of controller settings. These are linear and legacy settings."
Legacy and Linear are two different controller settings, with Legacy acting as a gamepad and sensitivity assistant included in the game at launch for those who are used to them and don't want to change. Linear offers more control over these settings with higher build and edit sensitivity, with changes to how aim assist works, which many considered a buff when it launched back in October.
With these two options offering ranged or melee advantages respectively, there is a setting that controller players can use regardless of their play style, which will give them a helping hand when looking for Victory Royales, making them dangerous no matter the distance.
While many believe that aim assist really helps controller players, in theory they are still at a big disadvantage in Fortnite as keyboard and mouse not only allow for more precise aiming and movement, but also allow faster creation and editing with sweep a mouse that fingers just can't play.
