Sumeru Genshin Impact: Leak reveals first look at upcoming region
A new Genshin Impact leak has revealed Sumeru City, an area in the upcoming Sumeru Region map update in the game.
The Sumeru region in Genshin Impact is known for its vast deserts and verdant forests. Although details about the game's next map update were quite sparse, this did not stop a number of Internet leaks. Aside from the 2.2 and 2.3 character leaks, one of the most exciting discoveries is the city of Sumeru.
The inhabitants of Sumeru worship the God of Wisdom, the Archon, who governs the Dendro element. This Genshin Impact leak not only gives players a glimpse of what Sumeru City will look like, but it also gives us an early idea of the city's overall scale.
Sumeru Region Leaks Genshin Impact
Since Sumeru is the home of Archon Dendro, it makes sense that there would be a giant tree in Sumeru City. After all, those who use Dendro's abilities are known for their plant-based attacks and closeness to nature.
Genshin Impact Traveling Trader Li Ben even mentions that "Sumeru is rainforest and desert", which explains why Sumeru City itself has a lot of trees and foliage. In fact, the buildings themselves appear to be built into the base of the tree.
There are even several bridges that seem to wind around the tree, while various platforms have been built right under the roots of the plants. In addition to this attractive structure, the city has high bridges that connect each district together.
It's hard to tell from the leaked images, but the overall scale of Sumeru City seems to be on par with other POIs from the game. The Redditor who published the leak said : "[Sumeru City] looks small in pictures, but that's just because there's nothing to compare it to. It is as tall as three Vanshu hotels stacked on top of each other.”
Like most Genshin Impact leaks, this Sumeru leak may have come from an early build, so things could change between now and the Sumeru region update. For now, this is all we have.
