STALKER 2: release date, system requirements, trailer, platforms, etc.
STALKER 2 takes players back to the radioactive wastelands of the Zone, so here's everything you need to know about the upcoming game, including its release date, trailer, and platforms.
For those who haven't heard of the STALKER series of games, then know that the plot is tied to the infamous Chernobyl disaster of 1986, where on April 26 a nuclear reactor exploded near Pripyat. The incident in Ukraine was one of the worst nuclear disasters in human history.
In the alternate timeline of STALKER, the exclusion zone around Chernobyl, commonly known as "The Zone", experienced another explosion 20 years later in 2006 - shortly before the original game's release in 2007 - after scientists opened a laboratory to study anomalies and other phenomena. occurring within the disaster radius.
This less-forgotten nuclear wasteland left behind by these events sets the stage for STALKER 2. The zone looks prettier, deadlier, and deceptively abandoned than ever before, so here's everything you need to know, from release date to platform to spoilers.
It may seem like an irradiated hellscape (because it is), but for veteran stalkers, returning to the Zone is a dream come true.
STALKER 2 release date
STALKER 2 will be released April 28 2022 years - two days and 26 years after the Chernobyl disaster. Coincidence? We think not.

STALKER 2 will be available on PC through Steam, and the Epic Games Store, as well as for Xbox Series X | S. . As an added bonus, it will be available at Xbox Game Pass at release, which means that you will be able to play immediately after its release, as long as you have a subscription.
Unfortunately for PlayStation players, the game will not be released on the Playstation 5 at release, and there is no indication of when (or at all) it will release on Sony's iconic platform.

STALKER 2 announcement trailer
The first official trailer for STALKER 2 was released on July 23, 2020 and gave us a quick look at the updated CSG Game World version of the radioactive Horror and Mystery Zone.
STALKER 2 2020 trailer
Various shots of some of Chernobyl's most iconic sights are scattered across the dusty camera lens, including the infamous Ferris wheel that serves as a harrowing monument to STALKER's Pripyat amusement park, and real life.
On a more fantastical side, we see that the environment is littered with bizarre physical disturbances known as anomalies, and we can look into one of the more abandoned underground structures scattered throughout the Zone.
STALKER 2 E3 2021 gameplay trailer
During the Xbox presentation at E3 2021, we took a close look at STALKER 2, and damn it looks great. The trailer starts off exactly as it should, as we sit by the fire and swap stories with fellow stalkers after another hard day in the Zone.
Through these memories, we learn about the combat system, some loot and even some of the characters that we will encounter during the game. This wouldn't be a STALKER game without mutants, and we won't spoil anything, but get ready to take a look at these monsters now.
Controversy with STALKER 2 NFT
Initially, GSC Game World announced that the release of the game would be accompanied by a series of NFTs (non-fungible tokens). In hopes of creating a "Metaverse of Stalkers", several NPCs and cosmetic items had to be locked behind a premium currency barrier.
Following immediate outcry over this decision, GSC quickly dropped the NFT idea, writing, "Based on the feedback we've received, we've made the decision to cancel everything related to NFT in Stalker 2. The interest of our fans and players is a top priority for the team. We make this game for you - at any cost. If you care, so do we.
What is STALKER 2 about?
One piece of information that we're reasonably certain of is that the player character appears to be a mysterious new stalker named Skiff.
There is also a rooftop shot overlooking Pripyat that introduces an unnamed character in black who looks like he just stepped out of a Hideo Kojima game. Whether this character will be an ally, an enemy, or both remains to be seen. Another thing is that we know for sure: our old friend Sidorovich was nowhere to be seen.
Aside from the new characters, we won't be surprised by the return of factions such as Duty, Freedon, Clear Sky, and Bandits from the first game. Being a Zone, it's safe to assume that the military will be there too.
More details on the history of STALKER 2 are sure to come as we get closer to April 2022, so be sure to check back for all the latest information.
So, grab some vodka (for radiation, of course), start stocking up on diet sausage, and we'll see you in the Zone on April 28, 2022.
