Rust: All Codes for Security Cameras
With the right video surveillance codes in Rust, you can spy on your enemies and keep certain monuments safe. Here are all the codes.
Rust is an absolute war zone. Anyone unfamiliar with the game and how it works will find themselves incapacitated almost immediately. This is arguably one of the most beginner-friendly indie games on the market, and even seasoned players sometimes find it hard to beat their rivals after every wipe.
The difficulty with Rust is that enemies can be anywhere, and leaving your base is always a gamble. Since you will collect supplies frequently to craft better gear , it is important to know which areas are safe and which are filled with other players. Luckily, you can tip the odds in your favor by looking at a particular location.
By using the computer station and entering some fancy codes on the CCTV monitor, you will be able to peek into the camcorder and evaluate a potential place of robbery, before stepping outside its protective dome.
How to Use CCTV Codes
You can only use CCTV codes if you have access to the computer station, but once you do, you have visual access to the many locations scattered around the map. Video surveillance codes won't let you spy on another player's base (and you can't hack into their security system), but keeping an eye on the rest is incredibly important. Rust is very it is important to have any information about your opponents, especially when it comes to positioning on the map.

How to Get a Computer Station
While codes are useful, they are useless if you don't have a computer station to use them. There are two ways to get a computer station: buy it or make it.
The computer station is not so difficult to mine. It can be bought at peaceful city for 300 units scrap metal. The computer station can also be found in 5 containers:
- Blocked box - 3%;
- Elite box - 1%;
- Military box - 1%;
- Oil rig scientist - 0.1%;
- Armored Scientist - 0.1%.
All of the following are required to create a computer station:
- Workbench level 2
- 75 Scrap
- 1 x broadcaster
- 1 x RF receiver
- 5 x high quality metal
- 1 x guidance computer
Of these items, the two biggest problems are the targeting computer and high quality metal. Thanks to the 2017 update, high-quality metal is almost impossible to find inside rocks with normal mining, and the easiest way to collect it is to use a mining quarry.
How to Make an Identity Card
Before you can use the computer station and enter codes (or set up your own video surveillance system), you need to create an ID. To do this, right-click on the computer station and select the "Set ID" command. Be sure to record everything you create, as a password will be needed for any access to the station (and also helps prevent unwanted players from viewing your cameras).
It's also important to note that you'll need some sort of power source to get your computer station up and running. Make sure there is a wind turbine, small generator, or solar panel nearby.
How to Set Up Your Own Video Surveillance
The computer station is designed not only to check cameras installed around each monument , but also to control your own private video surveillance system. To do this, you first need to find your own cameras. Unfortunately, you won't be able to craft them, and the only way to catch them is to find them in Elite Military Loot Crates.
You will also need to catch three more items:
- 1 x wire tool.
- 1 x splitter.
- 1 x switch.
These items can be found in crates and finding them all is not difficult if you loot enough.
After collecting the necessary materials, you can move around your base and install security cameras anywhere. You can add as many as you like. It's important to note that they are stationary in their current form, so be sure to point them towards the area you want to see. They must also be connected to a power source with a voltage of at least five volts. Once you've done that, the final step is to connect the security camera itself to the computer station.
