Ghost of Tsushima: Legends Character Class Basics
Although each class Legends has a certain set of unique abilities, all of which share a few core skills that you will be familiar with from the base game. Some mechanics are now tied to your gear instead of unlocking on the skills screen.
Here is what is universal for each class:
The battle
While the sword style you use is limited by the katana you equip, all of the abilities in the base game samurai tree are present despite the horse mechanic.
Stealth
Each class can move between cover points, tall grass, etc.
Murder
Each class has the ability to stealthily kill enemies while on the ground or in the air.
Action
Each class can use the game's movement mechanics: rope walking, robes, etc.
Ghost Weapon
Although certain weapons, such as percussion darts, are reserved for stealth classes only, each class Legends can use kunai, smoke bombs, bows, throw mud, etc.
Putting it all together
Much of the gameplay in Legends revolves around the correct use of all these basic skills. The key to success at higher levels of difficulty lies in the combination of basic skills with special abilities and tools.
In short, time is everything, as Ghost weapons and class skills are restored after use . You will also only have access to one type of expendable ammo and will need to use it sparingly and efficiently.
Each class also has an Ultimate ability, which you use by pressing "L1 + R1", spending three Resolve points. Resolve is gained through kills, parries, dodges, and kills, and certain weapon upgrades increase your reserves of resolve. A well-timed Ultimate can turn the tide in a bad situation, or guarantee your team's failure if you're a second late.
Note . This guide describes the special abilities of each class, as at the end of the game you will have all the unlockable abilities at your disposal.
Samurai class
Play style
Samurai is the front line fighter Legends , so to speak, the tip of the spear. They designed to provide survivability and damage, but they have little to offer in terms of stealth, beyond the abilities described above.
Class Skill 1 (Spirit Pull)
Strengthening his blade with Spirit Pull, the samurai drains the life force of one nearby enemy at a time , replenishing their health in the process. Wise use of Life Drain keeps the Samurai in combat even if he has taken multiple hits.
Class Skill 2 (Explosive Strike)
Trade your life drain for extra damage with Explosive Strike, which causes your enemies to explode every time you get hit. You trade off survivability in favor of pure potential damage.
Ultimate (Rage of Hachiman)
After a short chant, the Samurai may deal heavy damage to five nearby enemies . You'll need to target the ability with the control stick if you want to attack different opponents - or you can keep attacking the same enemy multiple times.
Best Samurai Class Strategies
The way you play as a samurai class in Ghost of Tsushima: Legends, depends on how comfortable you are in combat.
If you need extra security, Spirit Pull will keep you going and cheer you up if things go wrong. If you are confident in your ability to avoid damage, using Explosive Strike will allow you to take down even the toughest opponents much faster, but you will be punished more severely for any mistakes.
Hachiman's Fury, like all Ultimates, can be used both offensively and defensively. If you want to start a tough fight with fewer enemies to keep an eye on, unlock this ability. You can also use this ult to end the fight quickly and with low risk.
If a teammate is down and there's no good way to cover your respawn, using Hachiman's Fury to give yourself some space is more important than saving the entire fight alone. V Legends you live and die as a team. Playing lone wolf is no good here.
Hunter class
Play style
Focused almost entirely on the longbow and semidry bow, the Hunter relies on quick reflexes and even better aiming . Legendary encounters occur almost exclusively at close range, but Hunters excel at thinning herd from afar and throw your enemies off balance while you're in the thick of things.
If you are playing with a trusted teammate, place an advantageous position. Just be aware that arrows are a limited resource and eventually you will have to get your sword dirty.
Class Skill 1 (Wobbling Arrow)
Both Hunter abilities focus on crowd control , but the first one, "Wobbling Arrow", is a purer expression of this tactic. No matter how close or how far you are from enemies, using this skill once will cause groups of them to trip on themselves for a few seconds, leaving them all vulnerable to attack.
Class Skill 2 (Explosive Arrow)
Exactly as the name suggests, Arrow's Explosive Ability sends out an arrow that explodes on impact, inflicting high AoE damage , and leaving the enemy on fire .
Ultimate (Eye of Uchitsune)
Hunter Ultimate is as easy to understand as it is deadly. When using you automatically target five enemy heads . As long as they stay within your line of sight, and once you lose your arrows, you will inflict headshots with all the increased damage and related effects.
Best Hunter Class Strategies
The hunter is effective both up close and at a distance. They can be especially useful at higher difficulty levels, when enemies have more health and abilities that you might not want to deal with at close range.
If you are a Hunter, always open the melee with about half the arrows in your quiver. Save most of your special arrows to finish off stronger enemies.
Staggering Arrow is best used defensively. , as it gives you and your teammates time to either counter-attack or recover lost ground. explosive arrow can be used to both open and close a scrum because it is more aggressive option DPS oriented .
Eye of Uchitsune, like most Ultimates, is something of a Get Out of Jail Free ability. Whether you need to thin out a group at the start of a big wave or make room for a dangerous spawn, the arrows work just fine.
Ronin class
Play style
Ronin is as close to a pure support class as Ghost of Tsushima: Legends , with many abilities healing and recovery ready to keep your team in battle.
They have access to all basic skills, making them a powerful front line fighter and a defense against bad luck rolled into one. However, you don't want to be in the middle of the action all the time since you can't use your abilities when you're downed.
Class Skill 1 (Ghost Animal)
You call the ethereal dog, who fights by your side, distracting and damaging enemies, leaving them open to attacks from you or teammates.
Class Skill 2 (Healing Incense)
You create around you healing aura for a few seconds, healing yourself and allies for the duration.
Ultimate (Izanami Breath)
Probably the most powerful Ultimate, Breath of Izanami revives all of your teammates и gives them life regeneration by burning enemies nearby when they come to life. The ability works regardless of distance, so even if you're in one of the larger areas and your entire team is scattered around the arena, you can get them all into combat form.
Best Ronin Class Strategies
Ronin should not focus on running first, and they should not be purely defensive. Their class skills add value only in close combat , so you'll want to stay close to your allies whenever possible.
Remember that your Damage as Ronin is somewhat limited , since you can only rely on your basic abilities. Care must be taken as your team will rely on you to keep them on their toes and ready to fight even in the toughest of fights.
Choosing between a spirit animal and a healing incense comes down to what kind of support you want to be. Spirit Animal is a great distraction and creates more holes than you might expect, but it doesn't do much damage and disappears after a short time.
Healing Incense is the best option on higher difficulty levels , as they allow you to save yourself the use of a healing drum in case of emergencies if you yourself become weak.
Izanami breath has two main uses. Either make sure you don't fail a mission, or cheer up in the middle of a fight, which keeps downtime to a minimum. You will need to make the right decision about what is more appropriate at the moment, but only use it aggressively if you are sure the team won't miss out on a regen.
Assassin class
Play style
Assassins are the epitome of stealth, and what they lack in combat ability they make up for, reducing the strength of the enemy until they figure something out.
Their skills are most useful and provide opportunities for both attack and defense. Your pre-damage isn't exceptionally high, but combine the damage buffs from Critical Strikes and the ability to fade on command and the Assassin can clear entire rooms without sweating.
Class Skill 1 (Poisonous Disappearance)
The killer disappears and inflicts stunning damage to all nearby enemies. The other classes will thank you for the lighter stun and you will be able to land a free critical hit.
Class Skill 2 (Group Vanish)
Best used in the thick of battle with teammates around you, Group Vanish makes you and your teammates invisible with all the ensuing benefits.
Ultimate (Shadow Strike)
Similar to Hachiman's Rage, Shadow Strike hits up to five enemies with critical damage , killing low-level mobs and softening larger targets for later destruction.
Best Assassin Class Strategies
The Assassin's game plan consists of two phases. Before starting a fight, you need remove from the field all low level flours . Make good use of your invisibility to move from cover to cover. Then, if you can't fire one shot from anything else, deal significant damage to the most valuable target in your path.
Once the battle begins, your job is to confuse the enemies and make sure your allies stay alive, making extensive use of Vanish and Shadow Strike . The same rules apply as in Hachiman's Fury, but with your extra invisibility, you are free to revive a teammate and possibly save your Ronin for your own use.
These are the main strategies for each of the four classes Ghost of Tsushima: Legends . Use these lessons wisely and nothing will stand in your way.
