The ubiquitous Red Dead Online continues to chug content, offering two new ways to play as it comes to the permanent online world this week.
The latest updates to the popular Red Dead Online are sure to delight those still patrolling the frontier, with highlights including challenge-based hunting and a new game mode where players will fight for their lives.
First up is the new Wild Animal Kills Challenge, a new Free Roam event that pits players against each other in a competition to hunt the biggest prey in the West. Points are awarded based on the size of the animal, with each animal receiving one to three points based on size. Over time, a more dangerous game will appear, offering bonus points. Oh, and for those familiar with what some RDO players might be like, the other hunters in this challenge can't be attacked, so don't worry about being disturbed while you're hunting.
Big Game Hunting Escort is a new variant of the Showdown mode called Head for the Hills, where one player must run through the desert to reach a hideout while other players in the session hunt the runner. Once the runner escapes or is killed, a new player will take on the role of the victim and the game will restart.
Head for the Hills will be shown live on the official Rockstar Games channels on Friday, May 31 at 17:00 pm ET, so check out the studio's YouTube, Facebook, or Twitch channels for more on the new Showdown and everything. what is being added to Red Dead Online in this update.
We're excited to see Red Dead Online continue to engage players with new game modes and other new activities. RDO appears to be on the path of Grand Theft Auto Online, which is updated even five and a half years after release. Rockstar, by supporting two successful online communities, is helping to make these titles legendary, and adding more content like this will help that cause.
