Plague Inc: How to Infect (Infect) Greenland

If you've played Plague Inc. before, chances are you really hate the country of Greenland. This is because it is very difficult to infect due to its isolated location and cold climate. In fact, this is such a big problem that we decided to dedicate an entire guide to solving the Greenland problem.
Luckily for you, there are actually many approaches to infecting Greenland, and we will cover all of them. They will also work with all types of plague, so it will be easy for you to infect it by reading our guide.
Useful about Greenland
Greenland is a cold and sparsely populated country. Although actually a Danish territory, Greenland is an independent country in the game, as Denmark does not exist in Plague Inc as it is part of Germany. Greenland has no land borders as it is an island.
It has seaports but no airports.
Sea routes lead to: Norway and Russia.
WHY IS GREENLAND SO DIFFICULT TO INFECT?
Greenland is hard to infect in Plague Inc. for a number of reasons, but the three biggest problems include:
- ♦This is an isolated place
- ♦Frost environment
- ♦No air travel
To be clear, it's hard to infect Greenland if you choose it as your starting country or if you don't. This is the most isolated of all locations in the game, and its environment is very different from the rest. It also doesn't have any form of air travel, so you'll be basically relying on disease transmission via seafaring.
This brings us to the second part of the problem: you will need to try to infect Greenland before the world considers your plague a key threat, or you risk closing its borders before you can infect everyone. This means that you may need to adjust your strategy a bit depending on the style of the plague.
INFECTION STRATEGY
So let's talk about strategy. The simplest method we have found so far is:
- ♦Use "Water II" Transfer Paths
- ♦Use "Bioaerosol" Transmission Pathways
- ♦ Spread infections throughout the country with the "Resist Cold II" Skill.
Extreme bioaerosols and water will allow the plague to travel to Greenland, and Cold Resistance will help it spread and infect the population. Bacterial resistance and drug resistance can help spread the plague, although we have been successful without it. You may need them for higher difficulties, when your illness is noticed and the infection does not spread as easily.
To make life easier, you can also start in a colder country, as this gives a bonus to cold resistance from the start. You will probably still need Cold Resistance 2, but it will be easier for you to get into these countries. Conversely, warmer countries may become more difficult to infect.
If Greenland does close its port and you don't feel like starting all over again, another way to infect the country is to get an extreme zoonosis. This is an expensive Tier 3 transfer as it requires Bird 2, Rodent 2 and Livestock 2 and also requires Cold Protection 2. You are also in danger of wiping out all the animals in Greenland so be careful with that.
Also, using the Fungus and special diseases, it is most easy to bring the infection to Greenland, even after the country closes the seaport.
