HOW BACTERIA WORK
There's a reason Bacteria is the default plague type in Plague Inc., and that's because it's the one that controls you the most. If you don't have a strategy, your game may be over before it even starts.

But, if you get a random mutation that shows up quickly, you might have a hard time completing the game if you don't have a bunch of DNA points and the world is already 100% infected. It really takes a lot of action, quick reflexes, and managing the infection rate to ensure that every country is affected by your plague.
Also, it's worth noting that there's very little room for experimentation here, as you simply don't have a lot of DNA points to play with. It's all about following a very specific strategy to completion. As a result, this can be one of the least fun styles of disease, especially when you remember that it is always under your control and you won't run into much randomness other than mutations, which are easy to manipulate anyway.
PROBLEMS

BACTERIA STRATEGY (NORMAL)
So, you want to defeat the Bacteria plague on a normal level, but don't know where to start? Follow our steps below and you won't have any problems.
Infection of 100% of the planet
So, first things first: the best approach to a Bacteria-type genocide is normally to start by infecting 100% of the planet - preferably without detecting the disease. How can we achieve this? Well, with a combination of the right types of transmissions and the addition of symptoms in general.

This is when the game gets tough and you will need to adopt a solid strategy. Given that everyone is infected, and hopefully it hasn't been discovered yet, so there's no chance humanity will be far enough along with the cure, you can start getting aggressive with your symptoms.
We hope you have around 100 points at the moment, allowing you to get to the incredibly deadly Total Organ Failure, which will kill the entire planet incredibly quickly. You can get this symptom from any of the trees, although we recommend insomnia as it greatly impacts productivity, slowing down humanity's chances of a cure.
Prevent humanity from finding a cure
At this point, you shouldn't have any problems finishing the game, as everyone should die well before the healing gets close to completion, but if you have any points left, you can spend them on some abilities like Genetic Hardening or Genetic rearrangement.
At the moment we don't need any transfers, resistances or anything like that, because the world is already completely infected, so you can refund those points to spend on slowing down research or speeding up deaths by increasing mortality. We also highly recommend that you do so, because if humanity actually finds a cure, it's game over for us. In fact, you can get back all the points you've spent up to the point where the world reaches maximum infection, as you won't have to worry about fighting the cure anyway.
