Territory of Beelsee
When you regain control, a tutorial on how to use the map will appear. Press the touchpad to view the map when you need to get directions. You can also view the tutorials you have already viewed in the Collection section of the menu.
Follow the objective marker to Beelze Castle and you'll fight a couple of deformed sopps along the way. Keep moving towards the marker and you will come across your first Hollow Flower to the left of the mine entrance. It allows you to see the past memories of the people living here and also functions as a collectible. This is Hollow Blossom #1 you can't miss.
Head into the mine and choose the right path while fighting Warped Sopps. When you reach the giant pit, look to the left to find the Soul Chain location, which you can use to get to the treasure chest with 2 Elixirs of Art. Keep using the other Soul Chain points on the upper level to get to the other side.
Hollow flower #2
When you leave the mine, there will be a Hollow Flower right in front of the exit.
Follow the path to leave the mine and you'll see some twisted sopps guarding the gate you need to get to. Defeat them and the gate will open, allowing you to get through. Before you enter inside the tower, go around to the left to find a treasure chest that contains Magic Gem x10.
Go inside the tower, go up the stairs, and then go down. Before you fall down, head to the left side to find a treasure chest containing Emerald Stone x10. When you land, a Soul Hunter will be waiting for you, and you must prepare for battle.
Hollow flower #3
Before heading down, look to the left to find the Hollow Flower.
You will regain control in front of the treasure chest on the left and forward on the right. Examine the treasure chest to find Elixir (Medium) x1, as well as a tutorial on equipping items. Go right and down the stairs, but before the second flight of stairs going down, head straight into a small room. You will find Might Potion x1 inside.
Head down the stairs to find two Soul Hunters below. Defeat them and then go through the newly opened gate. This leads to another room with two more Soul Hunters and a blue treasure chest. When the enemies are defeated, open the blue treasure chest to get Fire Lance I Divine Art. This leads to a tutorial on equipping the Divine Arts in the menu, although the Fire Lance I is already equipped with your R2 + Circle slot.
Head in front of the blue treasure chest and go through the gaps in the back to find a normal treasure chest. open it to find Elixir of Arts (Small) x1.
Go through the gate next to the blue treasure chest and you will see a glowing white crystal. it warehouse campwhere you can upgrade your weapons with the materials you find. These materials are dropped from enemies and it is worth gathering them to become even stronger.
You can also save your game and return to Valhalla from these storage camps. They also fully restore your health, making it something you want to focus on.
Hollow flower #4
Just outside the Storage Camp is the Hollow Flower.
Keep following the objective marker and you will learn about the skills. Go to the menu and select the Valkyrie section, where you can improve the Valkyrie's combat abilities in attack, defense and support. Support has a Double Jump ability that you can probably afford right now, and getting it would be great for research.
Hollow flower #5
This can only be obtained after acquiring the Double Jump skill. Return to the room where you found the Divine Fire Lance Art and head to the north side of the room. There will be a door that you can open that leads back to the beginning of the square. Return to the place where you fought the Sopps shortly after arriving.
Head to the right and you'll see an "island" that you can jump onto a bit. Attempt to sneak the first time and fail, resulting in a Soul Chain spot. Jump twice to the location and press L2 when you hear the Soul Chain sound.
Once you get to the other side, head south past the ruined buildings and look behind the last one to find the Hollow Flower.
Jump over the broken bridge north of the Storage Camp to fight three more warped sops. The path is divided into three parts; choose the middle path to continue.
Hollow flower #6
After the fight with the three Twisted Sopps, head back down the path you came from (to the broken bridge). There is a Hollow Flower that you went through but couldn't reach due to a fight.
Hollow flower #7
Head to the left path to find a Hollow Flower next to some breakable objects.

Head to the right path to find the Hollow Flower if you stay left along the upper level.
You can also head down the right side to fight off two Twisted Sopps and find a treasure chest with Emerald Stone x10.
Hollow flower #9
As you head down the middle path, look for an opening on the right. You will see a deformed Sopp walking around. Defeat him and destroy the breakables to find the Hollow Flower and a treasure chest containing Elixir of Arts (Medium) x1.
As you take the middle path, you will come across a fork in the road. The left path is where you need to go, but you can make a detour on the right. This results in Deformed Sopp guarding a treasure chest containing Elixir (Small) x1.
Head down the left path while fighting off two Twisted Sopps. Keep going and you will reach a wider area with three warped sopps and a treasure chest on the right. Defeat the enemies and then check the treasure chest to find Elixir (Small) x1.
Continue down the path and just as you are about to enter the stone building on the left, look again on the right to find another treasure chest that contains Elixir of Arts (Small) x1.
When you start entering the building, you will receive a tutorial on unrefined enemy souls. You may have seen them fly after the battle, but this is your official introduction to them. Three Soul Hunters and two Gargoyles will appear after the tutorial.
Hollow flower #10
Before entering inside the building, check the left side of the entrance to find a hollow flower.
Go inside the building after defeating them and you will see a blue treasure chest in front of you. Chest contains Divine Art Heal I.
Hollow flower #11
Head right, but don't go up the stairs. Look at the objects to the right of the stairs to find the Hollow Flower among them.
You need to go up the stairs to the right of the blue treasure chest. Before you do that, head straight to the first floor and go through the arched entrance. Follow the path to the right to find a Soul Hunter and two Gargoyles. They guard a treasure chest that contains Elixir of Arts (Small) x1.
Go back inside the building and go up the stairs. You will get to know the spirits given out by the Subquests. This spirit will provide a subquest about the Mother's Ring.
Climb up the ladder and jump over the gap on the upper level. Follow the path and you will fight two gargoyles. After the battle is over, turn around and look to your right to find a treasure chest containing Emerald Stone x10.
Follow the path and jump over to another building, then up the stairs. Exit the tower and you will see two warped sops and two gargoyles near the treasure chest. Defeat them and search the chest to find Elixir (Medium) x1. Head left and go towards the wooden structure.
Hollow flower #12
Before climbing the wooden structure, head right to take another path. Keep looking to the right to find another path that leads to two Twisted Sopps and two Soul Hunters. Defeat them and you can find the Hollow Flower in the northwestern part of the area. To the right of the Hollow Flower you can find a treasure chest with Strength Potion x1.
As you approach the structure, turn right and then follow the path north to see some large wooden steps. Follow them to find a treasure chest at the end which contains Emerald Stone x10.
Now climb up the wooden structure (side doesn't matter), but watch out for the Hollow Hunters who will shoot arrows at you. Defeat them and fight your way to the top. To your left will be warehouse campwhich is a great opportunity for you to save money.
Head east of the storage camp and look for a nearby wooden platform leading to another part of the building. There will be two treasure chests nearby; left has Elixir (Small) x1, and the right Elixir of Arts (Small) x1.
Hollow flower #13
Head east of the Storage Camp, heading east across the bridge. You will reach a grassy area where you can see a Hollow Flower on the left and a treasure chest containing Magic Gem x10 on right.
Head west of the Storage Camp and you'll find the Scarlet Dragon as you drop down. Defeat him and the gate will open behind him. Go through the gate and head to the northwestern part of town to continue up the stairs. Fight off the Twisted Sopps that will attack you when you get close.
City of Beelsee
Hollow flower #14
There are several hollow flowers in the city and this is a good time to pick them up. Head north and keep walking until you see a building with some breakables on the right. Head to the right of the building to find a Hollow Flower near some boxes.
Hollow flower #15
Head to the northeast part of town until you see a ruined house/building. Look to the right and go around clockwise to find a hollow flower next to the cart.
Hollow flower #16
Head northwest, but avoid the bottom of the stairs (you may have to fight the Hollow Hunters first). You should see a path near a house with a large orange roof. Follow the path to find a white orb on the left and a hollow flower on the right. The white ball will have a "Dead Man's Warning" subquest for you if you examine it.

Head west from Hollow Blossom #15 and walk to the edge of the cliff where you'll find a Hollow Blossom near a tree.
Head up the stairs and fight off the Hollow Hunters shooting at you (one at the bottom of the stairs, two at the top). After the battle, look to the right of the two Hollow Hunters to find a treasure chest containing Elixir (Small) x1.
Your next objective is to head to the northeast part of the city. Clear out the Death Hunters and Perverse Sopps that are patrolling the area to alleviate the situation.
Hollow flower #18
There are also Hollow Flowers on the top level. Check your map and head to the south end of the upper level, looking near the back of the building for the Hollow Flower.
Hollow flower #19
Check your map and head northwest of Hollow Blossom #17 while looking at the wall to find Hollow Blossom.
Hollow flower #20
Head east of Hollow Blossom #18 on the map, avoiding some of the buildings to find Hollow Blossom near some bags.
Head northeast and a scene will play out where the Valkyrie spots another person. When the cutscene ends, head east to where the man was supposed to fight the two Twisted Sopps that spawn. After they disappear, you can check the nearby blue treasure chest to get Ambrosia x1.
Head towards the target marker and you will receive a tutorial on dodging unblockable attacks. You will then fight two Hollow Hunters, two Grim Hunters, and one Perverted Sopp. After the fight, the gate will open, allowing you to proceed up the stairs.
To leave, look on the northeast rooftop to find a Soul Chain location that allows you to exit and continue towards the gate.
Climb the stairs and you will see warehouse camp, where you can relax. Now is the time to upgrade your weapons/acquire some skills if you haven't already. Investing in the double jump skill is a must.
Pass the warehouse camp and enter Beelze Castle.
Beelze Castle
As you move forward, you will be attacked by two Grim Hunters, one Soul Hunter, and two Hollow Hunters. Three Twisted Sopps and two Gargoyles will follow, and you don't want to let your guard down. Another wave of enemies will spawn, two Scorched Hunyuts and three Gargoyles.
After the battle, the gate to the northeast will open. Pass through it, and when the path splits, head straight first to find a treasure chest containing contains Potion of Strength x1.
Head left and fight off the Perverted Sapps and Soul Hunters in the next room. Head left when you're done. Two Hollow Hunters and two Deformed Sopps will be waiting for you behind the rubble. After the fight, your camera will focus on the chains to your right. Breaking the chains will be your next goal.
Hollow flower #22
Keep moving to the left to find a Hollow Flower standing in the hallway.
Before you get close, head to the left of the chains and follow the path to a room with three warped sops and a treasure chest. After the battle, search the chest to find Violet Gem x5.
Return to the chains and you need to get to the left and right sides to break the chains guarding the door. Head right and go around the balcony to reach a pink/purple glowing chain. You will need the Double Jump skill to head right. Before you get close to it, you can check the right side to find a treasure chest with Emerald Stone x10.
Approach the chain to spawn enemies who will try to protect it. Defeat them all and attack the chain after the battle to remove one of the chains blocking the door. It's time to get left side now.
Hollow flower #23
Head right and jump over the rubble twice to find the Hollow Flower.
Hollow flower #24
Right in front of the room with the pink glowing chain, you can find the Hollow Flower outside.
Head to the left, watching for three Hollow Hunters who will try to knock you down. Keep going and you will come across some perverted sops, gargoyles and scorched hunyuts who are trying to stop you. Continue to the left and you'll see Gargoyles and Scorched Hooknuts guarding the treasure chest. Defeat them and search the chest to get Elixir of Arts (Small) x1.
Continue heading west fighting five Hollow Hunters who are trying to block you. Head to the room with the glowing chain, which will summon more defenders trying to stop you. Destroy the chain by defeating all enemies to get past the gate. Before you leave, go up the stairs near the chain to find a treasure chest that contains Elixir (Small) x1.
If you can come back later after you've completed chapter 1 and obtained Ægon, head back to the main room and then up the stairs on the left side. You will need to jump through the gaps twice up the stairs, but you will reach a stone wall on your left at the end that only Ægon can break.
Inside, you will fight a couple of enemy waves, but you will see four treasure chests (three normal, one red). The red treasure chest contains a rune Magic Attack Boost I. Three regular chests contain (left to right) Elixir (Large) x1, Elixir of Arts (Medium) x1 and Elixir of Soul (Small) x1.
Follow the objective marker to the gate, which will be blocked by the Scarlet Dragon. Defeat him to continue. Climb down the stairs, but be careful of Ripped Sopp below. He is easy to miss and can poison you when he dies. Fight Jack Lantarnes down the corridor, then head down the next ladder. Watch out for the gargoyles below and make your way through the hallway, following the objective marker when you're done.
If you want Divine Art, don't go past the door guarded by the Scarlet Dragon. Head outside, then drop down to the right where the stairs are (you'll hear the Soul Chain sound as you fall). Go down the stairs to the left and make your way across the room, making your way past the enemies and following the path. When you see the path to the right, turn right to see warehouse camp and a blue treasure chest containing Divine Art Hail Shot I.
To climb back up, go back up the stairs and climb up to a greater height, then turn around and the Soul Chain spot should make a sound. Use this place to pull yourself up.
Hollow flower #25
Before heading straight for the objective marker, head straight ahead to find the Hollow Flower at the end of the corridor.
Walk through and jump down the hole. Despite the long fall, you will come out unharmed. Head forward to the blue treasure chest containing Divine Grave Art I. This will be the last Divine Art automatically equipped with an R2 slot; Future Divine Arts must be equipped from the menu.
Head east of the chest to find storage camp and two treasure chests. The left chest contains Art Elixir (Medium) x1, and the right chest contains Elixir (Large) x1.
Make your way past the Storage Camp and you'll fight your first official boss: Naglfar Aegon.
Boss Fight: Naglfar Aegon
Watch out for Ægon's three-hit attack. He will make a downward slash, a horizontal swipe, and then slam the ground to unleash an electric shockwave. Jump over the shock wave to avoid damage.
If Ægon uses his breath attack, try to dodge it by moving backwards (horizontal dodge does not work). If his left arm is glowing red, dodge out of the way as it's a grapple attack. If Ægon starts to howl, dodge backwards as quickly as possible to avoid being attacked by the electrical wave. It has a short range, but radiates outwards and will knock you back.
Aegon is weak to Holy, which is available through Graveyard Divine Art. However, it can be difficult to land as this is your only source of Saint. It is more reliable to damage Ægon with strikes and attacks. A quick 4 hit combo should damage him enough and you can back off while he attacks. If you're feeling brave, you can use Final Slash (square x4, triangle x1) for a lot of damage.
If you're taking too much damage, don't forget you have your Divine Healing Art. Hit and run attacks will generate enough Arts Gauge charges to heal. You can also use them for Grave Edge, but wait until you get used to Ægon's attack pattern.
Aegon's weak point is his face, but you need to hit him with Grave Edge a few times to knock him down. Once this happens, you can go after his face. Otherwise, hit-and-run tactics will be enough to win the fight, as long as you don't get too overconfident.
After the fight and scene, search the white treasure chest in the middle to get a weapon Bolverkra. This starts the equipped weapon switching tutorial and you can also upgrade the Bolverkr weapon. Step into the light that seems to return to Valhalla. You will receive a summary of your results before returning.
After reporting to Odin, you can head to Chapter 2: Divine Warriors.
