Teamfight Tactics Update 12.8: Balance Changes, Release Date
Next update for TFT with patch 12.8 is coming very soon, but there is nothing special about it. With the current World Cup, Riot Games are just making sure nothing broke down, as the 6th set reaches its peak. Here are the patch notes.
Finally, after nearly six months of life, Gizmos & Gadgets is rolling up. Set 6 TFT took players by storm with the introduction of Hextech Augments, something that will be continued in the dragon-inspired 7 set.
However, there are still a few updates left before that. Since there is still a month left in the set, TFT patch 12.8 will be the penultimate one from Gizmos & Gadgets.
Don't expect anything wild - Riot is developing Set 7 and from now on, when the meta is pretty stable, nothing will change in terms of balance.
Malzahar and his mutant army are strong in TFT, but will they be unhappy in patch 12.8?
Here's what we know about TFT Patch 12.8 so far, including when the April update hits the live servers.
When is TFT patch 12.8?
TFT Patch 12.8 is expected to release on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 - just a few days before the Gizmos & Gadgets World Championship.
Oceania is the first region to receive the patch, with notes usually disappearing when the patch starts in Australia. The global rollout will then begin within the next 24 hours.
Talon (right) is another popular carry that could be on the horizon for Riot.
What changes in TFT patch 12.8?
Riot avoided sending a b-patch ahead of Worlds to make sure the best players in the world can get the best practice.
"We don't see any major imbalances, and since many competitors are already gearing up for Worlds on this patch, we don't want to throw away their practice by fine-tuning the meta." said developer "Kent" on April 18.
There will still be some updates to try and iron out the tiny kinks.
The innovators have seen a return to form thanks to the latest patch of Seraphine buffs and could be on the list. Talon is also doing well as an assassin board, while Syndicates can be on Riot's hit list and Ashe reroll is making a comeback in the meta as well.
However, this is all speculation at the moment. We will share the full 12.8 TFT patch notes when they release on April 27th.
