Teamfight Tactics Update 10.12 - What Will the Patch Change?
Find out about Riot Games' approach to Galaxies Ranked Season, as well as the new Pass, Champions, Mobile, and more on the future of TFT.
The bottom line for those who don't really like to read: in early June, Teamfight Tactics: Galaxies will have a Mid-Season Update. It contains the following:
- ♦A new stage of ranked games and an accompanying rating reset.
- ♦Ranked rewards for the Rise of the Elements starter pack and the first stage of Galaxies.
- ♦A number of new champions and features. Some old champions and traits will be removed.
- ♦Brand new pass that includes arena, booms, eggs and emotes.
- ♦Three new varieties of Little Legends combined into one adorable egg.
- ♦Mobile version performance improvements.
- ♦New store in mobile version.
Let's get straight to the point: around 10.12 (ie early June), a number of new champions and a couple of features will be added, and some old ones will be removed. In addition, the long-awaited Ranked Rewards for the first two sets will be released, a new Ranked Play phase will begin, and the next Pass will be introduced. More details will be released over the next month, but for now, let's take a look at the key features.
Ranked Games
Riot decided to increase the length of the season in part to give you more time to enjoy the content and mechanics of the set. That being said, it was important to split the season into two phases, as the mid-season update will bring major changes that will give players new opportunities to demonstrate their skills. Your rank will also reset, but this reset will be softer than what happens between sets. Before the start of the next stage, most players will go down one rank (for example, from Gold III to Silver III). All holders of the rank of master and above will be in Diamond IV.
If you plan to conquer ranked heights until the very last minute, then know that the first stage of ranked games will end when the servers are disconnected for the installation of update 10.12. And when they turn on again, the second stage will begin.
Rank Rewards
If you managed to reach Gold or higher in the Starter Pack or Rise of the Elements season, Victorious Little Legends will appear on your account with the release of Update 10.12. In the future, you will receive an emote based on your rank. every stage. If you manage to reach Gold in both stages of the Galaxies, after completing the set, you will receive the Victorious Little Legends of the Galaxies.
The final appearance may differ from the one shown.
Galaxies Pass II
Players have made it clear that they enjoyed the opportunity to earn TFT progression points even during a crushing losing streak. So with the start of the next phase of Ranked Play, there's an all-new free Galaxies Pass, as well as a Paid Pass+. The latter will be available shortly after the release of Update 10.12 and will cost 1295 RP.
Here are the exclusives waiting for you in the new Galaxies Pass:
- Arena
- Emotions
- Booms
- Little legends
In addition to the pass, the next Little Legends Egg will be dropping with three new varieties. There will be no details yet, but we will show you one picture:
Mobile version
Now let's talk a little about TFT Mobile.
In the first month, over 10 million players installed TFT on their phones and now they can play anywhere. Many have become mobile-only players, and now Riot is determined to improve it and add new features as well.
When we started developing TFT Mobile, we decided that the first thing we wanted to do was to give you the ability to play TFT anywhere, and add additional functionality to the PC version later. And now most of the time we spend on the development of these features: improved settings, chat, store and information section. With the release of Update 10.12, a store will be coming to the game - we love to delight you with cool cosmetic items, which also help to sponsor further development of the mobile version.
In addition, TFT performance will be improved to make the game run more smoothly on most phones, fixing issues such as frame rate drops during PvE rounds and performance degradation in late team fights when players already have their armies at full strength. There will also be improvements to various technical aspects, such as input accuracy, to prevent you from inadvertently giving an item to the wrong champion or selling a fighter trying to move them to the bench.
And finally, a few words about tablets. Many of you have said that it would be great if TFT had native support for tablets. Riot will definitely look into this in the future, but for now, the developer will focus on improving the quality of TFT for mobile phones. As soon as this version works optimally, they will start adapting the game for tablets.
