League of Legends Update 10.12: Buffs, Nerfs, Changes and more
Riot has revealed an early look at some of the major changes planned for the 10.12 patch, including changes to runes and elemental rifts, ADC defensive buffs, and more.
With the long awaited bot lane changes finally planned for patch 10.11, Mark 'Scruffy' Yetter, Lead Gameplay Designer for League of Legends, revealed that they still have some changes in the ADC role.
Along with more buffs for ranged champions, Riot has introduced a host of other changes that fans can see in 10.12, such as changes to Runes, Elemental Rift, and Summoner spells.
Elemental Rift, Rune, and Summoner Spell Changes in Patch 10.12
In the last блоге "Quick Thoughts on Gameplay" on May 15, Riot revealed that Elemental Rifts will be getting some significant changes in the upcoming patch to "broaden their playability."
They added that while they're cautious about making major changes to the new feature, both Infernal and Cloud Rift will be improved, including new pathing abilities and jungle speed buffs that can increase the game's pace in the mid/late end.
It has also been reported that some of the weaker runes will receive buffs in the next patch, with major Predator and Guardian improvements planned, as well as minor runes such as Unflinching and Approach Velocity.
There is only one summoner spell that is being looked at for patch 10.12; Ghost, and while it doesn't appear often in the game, Riot is still looking at different ways to make it more viable compared to the regular options, with the idea of removing the "growth" in question.
The reduced cooldown and cast time of the Predator will likely make it a good choice for junglers after patch 10.12.
ADC defensive buffs in patch 10.12
In the next update, Zeal elements for the ADC will receive significant attack speed buffs, however, the LoL developers feel that a little more is needed to balance the role of the bot lane, and there will be more buffs in the next patch 10.12.
While ADCs are known for dealing high damage, their lack of survivability can be a concern for many bot lane networks, and Riot has shared some defensive buffs planned to make the role a bit easier.
The 10.12 buffs will see a slight increase in movement speed on ADC items and base HP in general, however, Scruffy later added that many of the Marksman champions that may already be fused in solo lanes will not receive these buffs, with Lucian, Vayne. Calista and possibly Tristana, who is also being considered, are all skipped.
Since many of these defensive changes are already in testing, Riot also revealed that they could be seen in patch 10.11 if they could be balanced over time.
League of Legends patch 10.12 is expected on Wednesday, June 10th. You can find the full preview of the patch below.

Rune and Summoner Spells on 10.12
Keystone Runes
- ♦Guardian - The goal here is to greatly simplify the use of this rune by making the area in which you can protect allies much larger. We're also changing the trigger from "any damage" to a massive damage boost so you have fewer instances of it triggering on tiny chip damage.
- ♦Predator - In general, we are simplifying and removing some restrictions, such as long channel times, significantly reducing cooldowns and reducing damage. We hope the end result remains a strong option for ganglers, but can also find use for top fighters and props.
Minor runes - We are looking to tweak and tweak a few minor runes.
- ♦Detach - simplification to a more accessible version of tenacity. Durability increased by 10% to 30% when health is low.
- ♦ Approach speed - Removing the ally element that didn't lead to the intended core idea so heavy CC champions can benefit from their picks. New direction - movement speed towards enemies in CCed, doubled when CC is applied by you.
Ghost - Ghost as a whole looks like a weak summoner, so we are taking the opportunity to buff it, but also looking for ways to improve its satisfaction and differentiation from other summoners. We're still iterating this, but currently changes such as the removal of "increase" are on the table.
