Genshin Impact Update 1.5: Should I Roll Zhong Li and Weapon Banner?

Let's see if it's worth spending your Source Stones on using the new Zhong Li banners with the Spade Slasher and Dust Memory weapons in Genshin Impact 1.5.

With the Genshin Impact 1.5 update less than two days away, players are on the cusp of getting the new content they've been craving.

With characters already confirmed, events and the highly anticipated housing system coming to 1.5, it's hard not to get excited. Many players have spent the last few weeks of version 1.4 collecting materials and hoarding Source Stones in anticipation of upcoming banners.

Zhong Li's relaunch will be the first character event banner to appear in version 1.5, and in the first weapon banner, players will have the opportunity to obtain the Spade Slasher sword and the Memory of Dust catalyst.

Should Zhong Li reroll?

As with all character event banners, the upcoming Zhong Li banner will feature three four-star characters with an increased drop rate. You will get a chance to knock out Noelle, Diona and a new pyro character Yanfei.

For players who didn't get Zhong Li for the first time, the wish on this banner is definitely a sure way to spend Source Stones.

After MiHoYo polished Zhong Li (and fully Geo-element), Geo-Archon became one of the best props.

Zhong Li is great for most team builds, providing great sub DPS while being the best shield builder in the game so far. He alone can keep the shield on your party members at all times, having a shield duration of 20 seconds, but a cooldown of only 12.

Also, compared to shield travelers like Dione, Zhong Li has a significant XP advantage. While "health" doesn't necessarily take precedence in the game, Zhong Li is an exception because since the last buffs were added, Zhong Li's attacks and abilities increase in damage based on his XP.

Naturally, players who already have a character have something to think about before deciding to make a wish on this upcoming banner. Yan Fei looks like she'll be a great Pyro, but it's hard to tell if she'll be worth those Source Stones for players who already have Clia or Xiang Ling.

Also, players should consider whether they would prefer to keep their banner stones. Eola, which will probably appear in mid-May after the expiration of the Zhong Li banner.

Based on confirmed abilities and leaked buffs even before her release, it's more than likely that Eola will become an imba (one of the best main DPS characters) in the game. As such, players who are determined to get their hands on this powerful Cryo character will definitely want to have a certain amount of Source Stones ready.

Are the upcoming weapon banners worth your money in Genshin Impact?

The upcoming weapon banner has also caught the attention of Genshin Impact players. The Spade Slasher Sword and the Memory of Dust Catalyst will become five-star weapons on the banner, and both of them are extraordinarily powerful.

Accordingly, both of these weapons are best used in teams involving Zhong Li or another character who can reliably place shields. This is because both Spade Cleaver and Memory of Dust increase the shield's durability. Both weapons also accumulate ATK % buffs on hit and deal more ATK damage when equipped with a shield.

Aside from their abilities, they both can reach 608 ATK and have a secondary substation that boosts ATK up to 49,6%, making them great for DPS characters.

This weapon, by its very nature, works best when the team has shield support. This makes Ning Guang especially useful with Dust Memory, as she can use a catalyst and provide her own protection.

In short, weapon banners are not recommended for F2P players, as a good four-star weapon can almost always be good enough for your needs. However, those in need of a powerful sword or catalyst to team with Ke Qing or Ning Guang can use the prayer on the upcoming weapon banner.
