Modern Warfare: Infinity Ward First Look During E3 2019

Call of Duty developer Infinity Ward shared their first look at Modern Warfare Multiplayer during E3.

The Modern Warfare release hype is already in full swing, and as the October 25th release date approaches, there will be more information on CoD's 2019 release.

While it looks like Infinity Ward has unfortunately decided not to show the gameplay at E3 LA, they have released new details about the game, including seeing multiplayer for the first time.

Multiplayer Mode in Screenshots

Two high resolution images were released at the Infinity Ward panel at E3 on June 11, both of which showcased in-game visuals on the new engine built for that game.

The first image shows the player camouflaging himself in some foliage with Gilly's iconic outfit while looking down the scope of a silenced sniper rifle.

INFINITY WARD

Gilly's costume has always been an iconic aspect of Modern Warfare's multiplayer.

The second image shows the instantly recognizable Juggernaut suit holding his incredibly powerful minigun. When this image was first revealed, the developers confirmed that it would also be displayed in Modern Warfare's Spec Ops mode.

INFINITY WARD

The fearsome Juggernaut will return in Modern Warfare multiplayer.

New game aspects

During the presentation, the developers talked about some of the new gameplay aspects of Modern Warfare that have been added as part of their efforts to make the game look as close to the real world as possible.

The first was a new mechanic that allows you to shoot through walls, which greatly increased the chance of accidentally hitting someone who might be behind the wall.

The second was that there would be battles on both a smaller and larger scale, such as capturing a base, hills, etc.

While these aspects have been confirmed to be in the campaign, the developers haven't said anything about them being in multiplayer, so that remains to be seen.

INFINITY WARD

The Modern Warfare campaign looks set to be the most relevant and controversial CoD story to date.

Characters and story

Infinity talks about some of the main characters that can be seen in the single player mode.

The iconic Captain Price will be returning to the series, though the character in this game will be a "new take on him" that pays homage to his original self.

INFINITY WARD

It wouldn't be a Modern Warfare game without Captain Price.

Yet:

  • Sergeant Kyle Jerrick is a former British Army officer who is now in domestic counter-terror and is dating Captain Price.

  • Alex - embedding the CIA in the Middle East region.

  • Farrah is a rebel army commander who hasn't decided to register, but war has come to her region.

Sergeant Ku; e Gerrick is a brand new character dating Captain Price.

INFINITY WARD

Players will be able to play as Alex, a CIA agent in the Middle East.

INFINITY WARD

In the Middle East part of the story, players will encounter a rebel named Terah.

As for the story itself, one side will play the role of the Level 1 Operator along with Captain Price, while the other side will play as Alex. Playing as Alex in the Middle East, players will encounter Pharah from the Rebel Army.
