Change the look of your next build by learning how to make Soul Fire! This is a new addition to Minecraft 1.16 and it emits a ghostly blue flame that will make things look a little more intimidating around your base.
Soul Fire (English soul fire) - Similar to regular fire, but deals 2x more damage and only burns on sand and soul soil. You will need to travel deep into the Nether for the specific ingredients to craft it, but it will be worth your while to create this flame!
HOW TO MAKE A FIRE SOUL
Creating Soul Fire is relatively easy, it just takes a bit of effort to get the Soul Sand or Soul Soil needed to create them.
Step 1: Travel to the Nether
You will need create a nether portal, to get to it. As a rule, for this you need to collect obsidian, make a 4x5 rectangle and light it with flint and steel. Jump into the purple portal and you will be in the Nether.
Step 2: Look for Nether Soul Sand Valley
The Soul Sand Valley biome is a new type of biome that you can find in the Nether. Soul Soil has been around for a while, but there is now a new resource called Soul Sand that can be found in the same areas. Soul sand looks a bit creepy and slows you down when you walk through it. Soul soil has a similar color, but is wavy and doesn't slow you down. You'll know you're in the right place if you see some blue flames erupt from the ground. Gather a piece of Soul Sand or Soul Soil, you will need one for each Soul Fire you want to create.
Step 3: Create Soul Fire
Now you just need to collect the remaining supplies. You need a few sticks and three pieces of wood. Place Soul Sand or Soil in the middle of the Crafting Table, place three sticks and three pieces of wood at the bottom. Check this image for reference:
Done!
That's all you need to do to create Soul Fire. They aren't as bright as a regular campfire, but they look amazing with this blue flame. This should give you some different visual options that can pair colors with a more creative build! You can also use them in an area you are building with ice because they won't melt those frozen blocks like a normal campfire would.
The Fire of Souls burns forever, like an ordinary fire lit on a hellish stone. Deals damage in 2 () units per second, as opposed to damage of 1 () unit per second from normal fire.
